Brad has 6 in 4 drafts, or an average of 1.5 PB’s per draft. Millen, Mayhew and Quinn drafted 23 pro bowlers in 20 years for an average of 1.15 PB’s per draft.
Here’s the crazy part. How many years for the 23 seasons with Millen/Mayhew/Quinn were those draft picks top 10 picks? Statistically speaking, the average for drafting a PBer is much higher as a top 10 pick vs drafting towards the bottom. That 23 number should have been a lot higher.
Oh I know. It’s just crazy to me how BAD we were at drafting during that period. In a league that is literally designed to keep all teams as competitive as possible, the Lions just said “Nope, we’d prefer to suck.”
So for the Lions. The 10 Players are.
2016 - SA - M. Killebrew
2017 - LB - JRM
2017 - KR - J. Agnew
2018 - OC - F. Ragnow
2019 - K - J. Fox
2021 - OT - P. Sewell
2021 - WR - St Brown
2022 - SA - K Joseph
2023 - TE - S. Laporta
2023 - SA - B. Branch
For UDFAs. I went by what team they were on Week 1 of that season.
Theres lots of UDFAs on this list that were signed by a team after the draft but were on a different team Week1.
