Villainy!

So, Lions did pretty well, eh?

Yikes.

Brad only has 6. So Millen, Mayhew and Quinn have 23 between them, or an average of 7.67.

Basically Brad is worse than Millen.

I know you are joking but just in case i will post the image to you that you shared yesterday :grinning:

Brad has 6 in 4 drafts, or an average of 1.5 PB’s per draft. Millen, Mayhew and Quinn drafted 23 pro bowlers in 20 years for an average of 1.15 PB’s per draft.

Here’s the crazy part. How many years for the 23 seasons with Millen/Mayhew/Quinn were those draft picks top 10 picks? Statistically speaking, the average for drafting a PBer is much higher as a top 10 pick vs drafting towards the bottom. That 23 number should have been a lot higher.

Slay is just joking around @StormGuyNovi

Oh I know. It’s just crazy to me how BAD we were at drafting during that period. In a league that is literally designed to keep all teams as competitive as possible, the Lions just said “Nope, we’d prefer to suck.” :man_facepalming:

The old rookie pay scale was a disaster too… We were punished for sucking. Even when we didn’t draft a bust he was making insane money in year 1

Here is a logistical question. Does Kyle Van Noy count for us? I mean, we drafted him and he made a pro-bowl.

No, because he wasn’t a PB’er as a Lion. And he was pre-2001. …if I’m understanding the exercise.

I went back 10 years. So 2015 draft to today.

Lions are still top 4!

This is interesting but the data are skewed

For example, how many of the 9 Chief All Pros are Mahomes?

Unique All Pros and unique multi-year All Pros might be more revealing

^^^ my list is by player. So mahomes is only 1.

So for the Lions. The 10 Players are.
2016 - SA - M. Killebrew
2017 - LB - JRM
2017 - KR - J. Agnew
2018 - OC - F. Ragnow
2019 - K - J. Fox
2021 - OT - P. Sewell
2021 - WR - St Brown
2022 - SA - K Joseph
2023 - TE - S. Laporta
2023 - SA - B. Branch

Oh, he wasn’t pre-2001. He is very much still in the league today. You might be thinking of Kyle VandenBoesch, he of the red-eyed fame.

Pre-2021*. That’s my bad.

Bob Quinn brought him in once KC cut him I believe

For UDFAs. I went by what team they were on Week 1 of that season.
Theres lots of UDFAs on this list that were signed by a team after the draft but were on a different team Week1.
