We need to talk about John Morton (and maybe Shep)

So then Henry, Bijan, CMC, and Saquan should have everyone worried this year too? They’ve all had those this year

John Morton isn’t a talented as Ben

our OL isn’t as good without Ragnow and Zietler

We will win less games than last year

Goff isn’t as mobile as Mahomes or Allen

Gibbs isn’t as efficient with a lesser OL

  • let’s all agree that those are all facts…

we may not be as good as we were in 23 or 24, but we are still pretty good

They should probably sped their 1st and 4th picks on OL so a trade seems unlikely unless it’s a small one

They turned the fumble and the blocked FG into 10 points.

Add in way more penalties than usual, a lot of which put us behind the stick on offense, and more missed assignments and missed tackles than usual, plus the ARSB drop, and it seems to me that we lost today because he had a level of sloppiness in our play that we haven’t seen for some time.

I’m not fully convinced by either coordinator but I wouldn’t put that on them, the players just messed up. It should have been 27-14 and probably more if the penalties don’t hurt us so much on offense.

I hope that Dan gave them both barrels in the locker room, the players looked like the needed a wake up call.

I wonder if a trade for Zeitler might be on the cards? Can Tate play LG?

This year listening to the press conferences and looking at the players and coaches body language. They may not be saying it, but something is off on the play calling. I’m not sure if it is Morton or Goff, but I get the feeling something is not right

I’m still calling this inconclusive

to be determined.

Missing Zeitler and Ragnow is HUGE.

That’s really it. We aren’t 3-5 we are 5-3

They know the OL can’t hold up to go downfield. We have ONE good OL player and 4 average with 2 being physically limited and 2 with little experience. That’s all.

How many divisional opponents run a Flores type defense?

Just to make sure I’m understanding the Morton hate, Jared Goff has the highest QBR and QB rating of his career in spite of Morton. Do I have that right? I wonder how how those would be if he wasn’t kept back by a terrible OC.

I think the hate is that we went from having the best OC in the NFL to having an average OC along with a depleted OL.

If the OL was similar to last year I think we’d still complain but less and we probably wouldn’t have lost the Chiefs or Vikings games.

Yea I don’t get it either.
ST gives up 10 points (KR and Blocked FG)
Monty gives them another 7 with the fumble

Offense has sputtered a bit here and there but that also happened under Ben

IOL is a big concern now

Offense struggled but special teams killed us for sure. We could have still won with decent special team play

Damm you guys are rough , the young Gs and Glasgow have been holding there own and have played well for the most part, these guys are bound to have a few bumps threw out the season. This was a Bad game for them but others also, the St Brown drop, blocked FG, Monty’s Fumble, the whole team was a little off .

Doesn’t this just mean he is being careful with the ball and making less risky throws?

If anything, it tells me that he isn’t calling plays that throw the ball downfield as much.

I think if we had last year’s OL, we win today and maybe the GB game. Still would have lost in KC in my opinion due to depleted secondary and inability to stop their offense.

If that FG doesn’t get blocked we score every possession from the mid 3rd quarter til the end of the game.

They figured out how to move the ball but the blocked FG was a 6 point swing in a game we lost by 3.

With all that being said it shouldn’t have taken that long to get into the hurry up

According to PFR he’s throwing it .2 yards further per attempt then last year.
