I collect experiences. I live abroad and was just going through all the crap in my house and wondering how I can get rid of most of it. I want to live with one small suitcase and a laptop for work. Just me. Although I do get people being fascinated with collecting. It’s human nature to enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

I have no use for collecting possessions.
I had already felt that way prior to 2020… but then my parents house was flooded by the Edenville Dam failure.
The house had over 30 inches of muddy water in every inch of the main floor…. and everything was trashed.
Stripped it to the studs… including removing the subfloor.
Threw away many dumpsters full of “stuff”.
Really makes one realize that simple possessions just don’t mean much in the big picture.

Let me rephrase, as I thought better of it. I grew up and spent most of my life less than a mile from Detroit. I would like to visit when I return home soon. I have misgivings about it. I
