De Smith is as much a part of it as anyone. He has the enviable position of being able to criticize the league at every turn, but he and the players have as much to gain as the owners. The cap is going up, up, up. Those “advertising” dollars are coming from somewhere. That’s how I remember FanDuel and DraftKings names… it’s not because I’m into betting or fantasy sports, they were mentioned by name during the last CBA news cycle.
