As far as I can tell, it’s to:

  • dance with blockers
  • get to plays after a defensive back has made the tackle.

Can we call this massive second-round reach a bust yet, too?

I know some of you refuse to allow such declarations.

Lions players can’t be busts until mid way through year 3. All Lions players need to time to develop before you can declare they suck.

This is the Patricia/Quinn era. They draft players in the first 2 rounds that never make an impact but fans always defend them by claiming they need time to adjust to the NFL. I know…other teams draft guys that play and play great immediately, but this is the Lions we are talking about.

Drafting for scheme is like buying a payment at the car dealership.

Our coach is an idiot and loves really slow LBs.

The game requires incredible athleticism and speed from defensive players. So the Lions hired a coach that wants 1990’s LBs who cant keep up with any of the other team’s skill players.

This is the guy who played Christian Jones all last season. A player so slow he cant keep up with any opposing offense player in the league. Maybe if an OT or OG is a legal receiver, Jones could keep up with them.

Jones lost the Lions about 2 games last year from all the 3rd downs completed, entirely on his guys.
