But if you have been paying attention to Brad he likes his weapons and has drafted them every year. Had Monty the drafted Gibbs , moved up for Jamo, drafted Sam . Yeah Brad likes his Toys
Some can multi task .
there alot on here that like to talk about the draft. It’s a bye week coaches are taking interviews fans talk about next year. I do drafts all year long doesnt mean I’m not into the superbowl or sol .
I think I have but I don’t recall the specific occasion. He’s certainly intriguing. A lot of intriguing CBs in this class.
Well, only Hunter and Barron rank higher in press but both excel in tackling. Porter only allowed 4 completions during the regular season, probably for the year because Az State chose to run on them in their bowl game. No matter who takes him I’ll be interested in seeing how he makes out.
For those complaining about the discussion
Franchise tag day is in 37 days
UFA is in 57 days.
Its gonna come quick
This is probably my biggest crush in the draft. I see a little Brian Branch in his game and I feel like he may get the Brian Branch treatment after the combine because I don’t think he’s going to have a great combine showing, similar to Branch and it could cause him to drop.
Barron can play all over the defense - outside, in the slot, at safety, too, which we know how Brad and Dan love their versatility in the backfield. I still haven’t worked through all the DBs in this draft, but man do I love me some Jahdae Barron.
He’s ranked all over because of his size, if he IS 5’11" then I think he’s first round and 3rd or 4th CB off the board. If not but he kills his vertical he still may not fall. Walter’s has him at #9 CB, hard to figure but they are pretty good. BTW they have Porter at #30. GBN has Barron at #5 and Porter at #7.

Wait a damn minute
There is a 6’3’', 200 lb cornerback that runs a predicted 4.3 40 yard dash, has given up 3 receptions this entire season, and I am literally hearing his name for the first time today.
Why is Darien Porter from Iowa State not getting ANY draft hype?

Iowa State’s Darien Porter (6026v, 192v) might be most “arrow-up” of any CB in 2025 draft. Former converted WR & first-year starter has unique combo of length & speed. First person in state of Iowa to run a sub-47-second 400-meter dash and @TelemetrySports have Porter’s top

I like the player. I just happen to think his best spot is in the slot and personally think that should be Enis’ home.
I tend to really like his buddy in the backfield, Andrew Mukuba.
I tend to follow players that I think would be a good fit here. Not sure if Andrew Mukuba will declare or not be I’ll be watching him in the Mich/Tex game.
He had 69 tackles, 41 solo with 5 int’s and 6 PD’s. At the time I thought we were better off at CB than safety, not so much now.
Malik Verdon is a Cyclone that interests me. I guess he’s always nicked up and might be a tweener. Personally I’m intrigued by the idea of transitioning him to WILL though if durability is already an issue that might be self-defeating.
If we resign CD I really like where we’re at at CB. Would probably want to add one more guy but that could be on day 3. Someone like Justin Walley who isn’t flashy but can simply cover could suffice.
If CD3 moves on then I’d prefer we find a veteran where Paulson Adebo seems like a terrific option. Then I’d still add a developmental corner.
To me, bringing CD3 back reorders the depth chart in a perfect way. Day 3/UDFA is fine if we’re looking at Amik, Arnold, CD3 and Enis as the top 4.
This guy has intrigued me ever since Nagy tweeted about him this fall.
Kind of get L’Jarius Sneed vibes from him. Big, fast and physical as hell.
Definitely possible. But like Branch and Ennis and Amik, etc, the Lions have shown a likely to guys who can play all over. Ennis started out at slot in minicamp and moved his way outside in camp. The Lions love the ability to play all over the secondary in their DBs. I’m pretty sure I remember a quote from Dan or Brad about finding the best players and figuring out how to slot them into the roster after…but I can’t find the quote now and don’t know if I just made it up lmfao
I still like Quincy Riley and I think he is gonna be good started at mtsu and transferred to Louisville
