The unfortunate truth with Goff is that he needs a perfect pocket in order to be great
He does not need a perfect pocket. He needs a playable/manageable pocket.
He doesn’t need a perfect pocket but he does need a pocket that doesn’t collapse in less than 2 seconds after the ball is snapped like yesterday.
Disagree with this premise. He needs 3 seconds……which yesterday was asking a ton with that interior Oline play.
He needs a perfect pocket so he can step up and survey the field.
He doesn’t have Tom or Peyton’s pocket awareness or agility
My opinion

So this can be a bit of an unending discussion and a more right type of deal.
The only way to shut down Peyton or TB12 was pressure up the middle. It crushes the “pocket passer”. Peyton has talked about it often and I am sure TB12 would agree.
Goff is not Peyton or TB12 but not many are in that class. Goff is the best pocket passer in the NFL today IMO. He needs 3 seconds…..good, bad, or ugly pocket IMO.
No QB is going to have much of a day with that line play yesterday. And I guess my issue is making comments about Goff is somehow inferring that he was part of the problem. Which I disagree 100% on that idea.
I’m not talking about yesterday, I’m talking about his nfl career.
Drew Bree’s was short so he needed great guard play so he could step up in the pocket and get the throw down field
Goff has a better arm but he needs a perfect pocket or else he’s flustered and doesn’t get the ball out right
Goff has a better arm but he needs a perfect pocket
GTFO with this “perfect pocket” crap. Repeating it doesn’t make it true. Goff is skillful at navigating a muddy pocket. But it can’t just implode.
Wylie maybe
Since hes been on the Commies Allegretti has been pretty bad,
Low Key, would throw a first for Sam Cosmi though, hes a dog, but i know that unrealistic as hell
No throwing of firsts.
Wylie is also a Michigan guy. Born in Hemlock and played at Eastern. Lions love getting people from the state.
Jackson Powers-Johnson is reportedly on the trading block. Guy could use a fresh start and fits into our culture. Wouldn’t have to break the bank to get him 4th this year and a 6th next year?
Better coaching and some veterans around him he could be a steal with lots of upside.
