Big time Jamo fan here, but I suspect it’ll be S. Vaki…individual success from Waymo wouldn’t really be a surprise, inasmuch as everyone is expecting him to ball out.
Yep, it’ll probably be Vaki.
I hope it’s Jack Campbell. I think the Dline and the DB’s are going to be much improved. Better than average even.
I’d really like to see Jack become a force in the middle.
I am going to pick James Houston. He was out almost all of last year, and went through the position change. I think he is back where he belonged all along, and now Hutch has his Robin on the opposite side. With better coverage on the back end, Hutch and Houston both have more opportunities for coverage sacks.
My second pick is Rakestraw. With all of the attention focusing on Terrion Arnold, who plays well but has the regular rookie struggles, Rakestraw comes in and surprises everyone with 5 picks and providing excellent first corner off the bench play.
I think we all expect BB to be a good safety, but it’d be a pleasant surprise if he’s a legit all-pro level safety in his first year as a full time starter there. I think great secondary play could be the catalyst for getting them to the promise land… I’d love to see the turnover numbers increase, Lions were middle of the road last season with a - 1 TO ratio.
It’s a crap shoot guessing a surprise perform by definition and Marcus Davenport fits that description perfectly. If the Lions have similar injury luck that the Rams had in 2021, they’ll be showered with confetti in February.
