Who’s the surprise performer this year?

YUP!!!

Amik Robertson is going to have a lot more fans at the end of the year than he does at the moment.

I think Davenport is going to finally be that piece opposite Hutch that we’ve been waiting for.

I also believe though that Houston is “not” going to live up to the hype that he generated at the end of the 2022 season, or that this board has bestowed on him.

I guess I won’t be surprised to see a big season from Jamo or Barnes. Jamo was a 1 rd pick, so I expect it from him, we just had to wait. Barnes showed significant improvement and had a good year last year, now he’s shifting to a role that will allow him to couple his growth from last year and his collegiate experience rushing the passer. I think one of the 3 receivers will step up, but they wont make us forget about Reynolds.

I think where we are going to see significant improvement is rushing the passer from both the interior of the DL and the DE position. But a fair portion of that improvement is because of better coverage allowing the rusher more time to get to the QB. So, surprise contributors Levi, Davenport and Houston because of Carlton Davis, Amik Robertson and our LBs. The rookies will make some plays, but there will be lapses. I think our defense is gonna be gnarley.

I agree and I will also add that I do not believe that he will get as much playing time as some seem to think that he will. My guess is that he is looking at less then 20 snaps a game.

Jamo for me as well. I just picked him in the 8th rd for FF. The league I’m in has fans from around the country and I was the only one that thought of him.

We may be more thankful than surprised……but I do believe NFL fans around the league will be very surprised

From what I’ve read (not much to go on yet), I would say Campbell on defense and Jamo on offense.

Also, I think the surprise performer this year could be a coach: Terrell Williams. He might just take our D-Line to the next level.

Jack Fox.

With no need to ever punt the ball, he is deployed in the new, hybrid position Defensive Safcornbacker. He is the first player to accumulate 15 interceptions, 15 sacks, and 100 tackles, and then retires after his 6th game playing defense.

Whenever these topic-types pop up (who will surprise) most people pick players whose emergence wouldn’t be a surprise, or pick players who are trending strong like Onwuzurike

Actual surprise candidates: Paschal, Martin, Barnes, any o-line reserve, any other deep reserve, Hooker, maybe Bates

My pick: Paschal

Veeeery intriguing. Can’t wait to watch this, & if I’m being honest, a little embarrassed that I wasn’t the first to see it coming.

I like the pick that several others have mentioned. I’m going with the guy I mentioned liking more than Arnold in the spring, give me Rakestraw!

Tell you what, this Vaki kid looks great as well. If Manu keeps trending the way he has he’s going to be my “surprise” pick in 2026.

Ennis Rakestraw may end up being a huge surprise on defense. I have a feeling he may end up starting sooner than later and potentially be considered the steal of this draft years down the road.

I think people are seriously overlooking Rakestraw.
The “quiet” ones are always trouble.

If Marcus Davenport can stay healthy (insert joke here) his setup is terrific.

I think you spelled Useatruck wrong
