Tis the season!
The dude is super-easy to root for, so I’ll chug all of the Hassassin blue Kool Aid that’s available.
I like hime as well. Hopefully he can be a good part of our rotation that gives our D line a pulse. My concern is that our secondary allows the quick passing game, which negates the passrush.
It’s a win for the Lions if he can contribute even 10 defensive snaps per game in addition to whatever they have him do on ST.
One reason for optimism is he’s not just some potential prospect. He actually had some really good film at Boise that I saw last year. In fact he was cooking some tackles and making them look silly at times.
Now can he play the run? I really don’t even care. Get him rushing the passer on 3rd downs, like James Houston did a couple years ago.
I’m very interested to see how he and Derrick Moore are deployed. Moore especially doesn’t seem to fit the mold of the run stoppers we’ve had in the past opposite Hutchinson. I’m looking for us to use a new, more comprehensive and more consistently productive approach to rush the passer this season. It can’t be a one man show.
By next year I expect Moore to be a bonafide 3 down DE and hard to keep off the field. I don’t think they expect less from him with what they spent to get him.
For example, Moore and Ahmed outside. Hutch rushing inside over slower guards. Plus Alim fully healthy. The NASCAR unit has potential. Hutch made guards look silly at times when we have used it. Which has been rare.
The key is find the weak link on every oline and move Hutch around all game, each and every week. Lining him up at one spot all game is beyond retarded.
It’s as if Mac and Williams are invisible.
If you put my grandma on the line with Hutch, Mac, and, Tyliek, she would mop up what’s left.

I get the sense some on the Den aren’t very high on Moore as a run defender? If yes, why is that?
I’m not a huge Moore fan, because most of his pass rush is power stuff (which just personally bores me, I like bend & twitch) but he’s going to be just fine against the run
I like him and hope he makes the roster but he’s going to have to beat out some real competition to do it.
I’m thinking Moore will end up as Hutchinson primary backup on that side with Wonnum, Lacy, and perhaps Hassanein battling it out for RDE.
I think I and a few others commented on how while at Boise State AH was quite proficient at getting penetration and pressure from the inside whether he had slid inside or was countering towards the interior. A skilled grappler per se. It hadn’t really occurred to me until recently that such a skillset should overlap with the base/big end responsibilities in a lot of ways since he’s often working man up or perhaps even with inside leverage at times. In an extreme minutia sort of way he and Lacy may have different play styles at that same position. AH offering more splash and penetration with Lacy being more in that mush rush/contain vein which we have traditionally associated with that position. 
Interesting DL in general. Not really sure what we have but excited to find out.
