In the 12 team playoff you would definitely include teams like Alabama and USC. With only 4 teams, no. Not when it would require swapping a 2 loss team in for a 1 loss team. Ohio States’ 1 loss was bad, but it was their only loss. Pulling TCU for an overtime loss in their conference championship would be bullshit.
We’d have a much tougher choice if Alabama had a single loss. Since they kindly dropped 2 games though, there’s no controversy here in 49 of 50 states.
