Wrong type of players

Can you believe Darius Slay smiling, and giggling after he missed two picks on the same drive . Both could have changed the games outcome . Then after the the game he was at it again , hamming it up with Prescott . He might as well just get on the plane with him to Dallas . Give me players who get pissed off at failure .

I agree! He wants out and I hope they move on from him!

Do you get pissed off at yourself when you fail at work? He played better today then the past few weeks.

I’m starting to think he’s disgruntled, and just going to cost himself and us money. The only one that benefits is his new team, if he moves on (as they get a better deal for him, both in trade and price tag). If he wants to move on, he could still play his ass off, and just go tell management how he feels. So many people avoid honesty. Nobody wins, the way it’s gong now.

You guys love looking too deeply into all of the wrong things.

Are you really trying to say that his shoelaces were not a clear sign he wants out of Detroit and isn’t playing hard? C’mon, it’s clear as day!!!

Slay played fine today…

He missed some tackles but so did a lot of guys. Lions got beat in the trenches again.

Yes - “fine,” but still unlike what he’s done recently. He’s capable of better. I’m still inconclusive on him, but keeping an eye on being open to trading.

I think at this point Slay’s a vet who still plays well but has been around long enough to know the score and knows that this team isn’t going anywhere. He’ll go the extra mile when he sees an opportunity and when it benefits him, but he knows that getting hurt for this regime is a fool’s errand. I can’t really blame him.

Oh, and by this I mean Slay is a perfect pickup for the Patriots…the real ones. The ones who he’d have faith in to get a ring and therefore buy into. We’re not them.

Sometimes, that’s all you can do. You can’t let a couple of mistakes get you down. The game wasn’t over. You have to be in a good frame of mind when the next play comes.

More excuses ,

Who cares about his shoelaces , or what he thinks about this coaching staff .
Darius Slay has checked out for the Lions this year . He should be moved to the non injury unavailable list .
If you don’t want to give everything you have , we don’t want you !

Shoelaces matter bro, just like the orientation of a baseball cap.

The Lions fan base is quite demanding of excellence, isn’t it?

Am I the only one who didn’t think he played “fine” today? A beat up amari Cooper caught 3 passes on him and yes it was just 3 passes but I believe they were all for 1st downs and he also got beat by Gallup a few times. That second “almost pick” is a pick 6 if he gets it and it went straight through his hands. He is a hell of a corner but if your ELITE, don’t you make that play? I could be completely wrong, with the lack of a pass rush it makes it harder and what not to cover…but it just feels like he left plays on the field…

Exactly. No one wants to play for Quin and Fat Pat.

I want guys who hate to lose. We have guys who want to win yes but very few who hate to lose. Yes there’s a difference

Slay is tough for me Bc there is tons of evidence that he’s actually a really nice guy. He is also clearly a really talented athlete. I do agree that his mentality is not the junk yard dog variety. At the same time he’s a corner so I wouldn’t expect that. And he’s a difficult player to replace. I think we could get a 2 for him I just don’t think that really moves the needle.
