I have to admit the thought of benching Goff crossed my mind. Like Data says in First Contact it was a few milliseconds of consideration. But I don’t get why people won’t admit he stunk today, because he stunk today.

I HAVE seen many posters note, one, that TWO of the picks weren’t actually on him; two, that he kicked ass when he really had to; and, three, that as a result, they won.

@JimLiohey i am not so sure about that. 3 TOs and some dubious throws. The throw to St in triple coverage was even tighter than the ones that Staff used to throw to Calvin. Only difference was that Calvin was always open. I couldn’t believe how lucky he was on that throw.
Also I didn’t see any of the crazy perfect passes that has become typical of him on a weekly basis.
I am not sure I loved the game plan. Monty was going early, yet it felt like we passed an awful lot to start that game even after Monty had run successfully early on.

But honestly I think it was mostly on Ben and AG prior to the 4th quarter wind down.
I truly believe Ben assumed whatever he called would work.
They have understandably forced Jamo onto the field a lot more. His route running is still suspect.
Goff plays best in rhythm and out of play action. We were telegraphing out plays, and weren’t scheming anyone open at all… where was the double reverse? Flea flicker? Half back toss? Jet sweep? Slant and go to Jamo?
They figured they’d be able to run at will, throw to open guys, and contain Fields.

NO , Nobody has ever said “ditch” Jared Goff , however there is QB talk every offseason and QB DRAFT debates` Goff will be the starter for some time going forward because Top 5 QB’s do not grow on trees. WE will heavily debate QB’s each offseason going forward—always have…yet Goff will be here a minute .
To be fair, while most have admitted he played like ass today, most of those same people have flat out said pay the man and pay him ASAP. It’s just in-game emotions. I can’t blame people after the 3rd pick for being enraged without acknowledging those people are also saying get the deal done already.

I’m used to a situation where an established starting QB has to have multiple bad games in a row before benching him is any kind of reasonable suggestion. But maybe it’s done differently.
When you say he’ll be here, yes, but because intemperate fulminating is not how the actual Lions operate. But I was talking about stuff here.
I haven’t been able to watch many games because we began streaming early Spring 2023…paid for a Streaming package , and that and I don’t have the extra money to pay for extra services to watch…SO–I have been listening to a podcast on YouTube—that has a guy breaking down play by play , has the scores , and that. T-day game will be televised all over , I assume I will get to watch that one…
