Zach Wilson

Oh man that would be great. You know I love Wallace, and Surratt is my fave LB after Parsons.

I agree. Meanwhile, Zach hasn’t necessarily played against the competition that Fields has. So I guess we like what we like, for the reasons we like’em.

I really like both players and can see it both ways to be honest. My eye test says that Wilson has more off script creativity but I think Fields deserves credit for having a longer track record against better competition. Some folks are acting like Fields last game is indicative of the player that he is when in fact results would suggest that it is instead an outlier.

I really want to leave this draft with one of those two or Zaven Collins.

What about Trask? He could be good for a QB needy team.

Wilson has a severe case of douche face. His downfield accuracy is insane, but I think given the character concerns, Id rather draft Lance

Zach Wilson interview back in October. He seeks to emulate Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, and Drew Brees. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

If you have to have a franchise QB that’s a Manziel it’s probably best that it’s a Mormon Manziel.

I mean, what’s he gonna do run off to Vegas to binge on Pepsi?

I don’t want Fields i will check other two out wilson a lance

The kid has everything you could want in a qb.

You see any Zaven Collins highlights?

That dude is can’t-miss in the NFL.

I really like Colllins too, his coverage ability is freakish for his size (saw him play live twice over the past few years, my wife is a TU alum). He looks to have long arms too to hold off pulling lineman while making plays, and when he tackles guys, they go down right away. I don’t know about can’t miss, but he’s certainly a great prospect.

I have a couple of problems with him. The first is semantics really, I think he’ll go top twenty and we won’t really have a shot at him. In that respect I haven’t given a ton of though re: his fit with us (though without a coach or GM fit is hard to discern).

The other problem I have that I think the weakest part of his game is his pass rush ability. He’s got no plan, he gets stood up a ton, he really only succeeds when the OL screws up. But teams are gonna see his size and long arms and think pass rusher, like a 3/4 OLB, and I think doing so would take away one of the things that makes him unique (his coverage ability). Now that’s not to say he can’t develop as a pass rusher, but it looks to me like he has a long way to go.

I’m a fan of Wilson. I see the ā€œitā€ factor. Same with Trask.

Did you watch the Cotton Bowl, by chance?

I like Jones better than Trask. Track’s ball placement is really something else but Jones has more arm talent IMO.

Wilson is on another level than either as a prospect IMO.

Lot to like in Collins, but he also kinda reminds me of a bigger Jared Davis in college. I’d like to see him be a little more physical taking on blockers and he doesn’t really have a lot of bend in his pass rush. Looks surprisingly good in coverage for his size.

I don’t see any way the Lions draft a QB unless Stafford tells ownership he wants a fresh start and they want to accommodate him. It would be a monumental mistake and make a bad team worse without adding anyone to make the team better. The Lions really need a little bit of luck in this draft. If Parsons is as good as advertised, he would make a huge difference immediately. If there is an impact DLineman or a surprise pick of a WR if they decide to allow Golladay to test FA.

So basically he hasn’t won any meaningful games

That and the shoulder issue/weird throwing motion

Tbf, Trask was without his 4 best WR’s (well Pitt’s a TE, but I digress), 3 of which are probably gonna be high NFL draft picks in 2021…but that said, he looked bad most of that game. Even before the game I wasnt sold on him, he’s too immobile and upright like a big target statue back there, not very athletic either. Makes ya think his stats were mostly due to the talent around him.
