10 days of What If

There is zero chance I’m talking Herbert over Goff. He’s had plenty of resources allotted to him, and he’s been in the league for 6 years now…. No playoff success, hasn’t thrown 30 TDs since his 2nd seasons. Barely has a 2-1 TD/int ration vs vs Goff north of 5/1… and over the past 3 years Goff has averaged over 105 rating vs 95

Allen

Maye

Stafford

Goff

Hurts

  • AS far as 2025 goes? That’s who I got. If you factor the next 3 years? Goff slides up a spot and either Burrow or Jayden/Nix/Caleb may ascend, and I think Stafford and Hurts regress or retire.

The thing with the young guys.. so many RG3, Baker, Stroud type rookie years… or even Herbert/Tua showing something very promising early on, but then not maintaining that trajectory

Rams have won the majority of their home game by less than one score…. One loss inOT to SanFran and two blowout wins…

They are beatable imho

It comes down to pressure on Stafford. If our defensive line has awoken, and we disrupt Matt, we WILL beat them. As we all know, Matt is a shadow of himself when he gets rattled. But if he has time to throw like Love did, we’re in for a long day.

People keep writing them off, remember when Philly was going to beat them? Until they start losing, I’m not counting on anything. The Lions need to win out, 11 wins is 50/50 to get into the playoffs… You need GB/Chicago/SF to go 2-3 or worse to get a spot.

Have you actually watched Herbert play? He’s been magnificent this season with almost no help

That’s not true.

The Lions only have 5 losses and really only GB and Philly have the tiebreaker.

TB play Carolina twice and that will eliminate whichever one doesn’t win the division

We need either the Bears or 49ers to end up with 6 losses… both will have 4 after today.

Next week they play each other. So one will have 5… the 49ers will still have Seattle and Bears will still have Ravens and Detroit.

I think we can all accept that if we lose to Chicago, we probably don’t get in. If we do beat them… then we only need one loss from them against either SF or Baltimore…. If the Bears beat SF… then we only need one more loss from them… Seattle?

Basically just root for the Bears to lose out.

Yeah I know you’re not. You also would take Goff over Allen and you left Burrow out…

You are major homer bro, which is fine but your opinion on players vs ours I can’t really take seriously. I do however understand the Herbert take. I’m still taking Herbert 5th over Goff, Hurts, Lamar, and others. It’s not even really a hard decision for me. You can throw numbers at me all day. When I watch the two guys play QB, Herbert is the superior QB :man_shrugging:t2:

Adding one more thing to this thread: it appears that Sunday’s game is the difference between hosting a playoff game, or going on the road.

Obvious edit: if the Pack end the season strong, they would win the division & secure the no. 2. seed. We’d be the 5th seed and on the road.

Playing the winner of the NFC South is about as good of a solution as you can hope for. That’s either Tampa or Carolina. Tampa will be decent weather, but they have good talent and a great defense. Carolina plays strong defense but can only run the ball. Stop the run and they are done.

I wouldn’t take Goff over Allen… but it’s like saying Id rather have Jordan that Isiah… was there ever a possible trade to make that happen?

Burrow is really talented, but staying healthy isn’t his super power, nor is making the playoffs…. That’s why I say he may ascend… it’s pretty clear he’s not top 5 in 2025 by any metric.

No I don’t think Herbert will finish with a better season… yes his OL is banged up bad, but they have spent 3 firsts, and big FA money on it… they also spent 2 firsts at WR, a big money FA, a high 3rd at WR, some draft capital at TE… then spent a 1st at RB, signed a decently priced FA, and have a top D and proven HC…. He still won’t throw 30 TDs again for the 4th time in a row.

Nix and Maye look like maybe they could be the next 2 young studs.. they also have top 5 defenses and proven HC

I don’t believe Hurts, Lamar playing style will hold up the next 3 years, nor Stafford will still be playing

Mahomes, Allen, Nix, Maye….and a healthy Burrow. Those are the few who may combine skill, longevity, and contract to be an advantage. Caleb? Nah
