Wild Guess: The Lions thought Gibbs would be drafted before 18, and one of the guys they wanted more would still be there at 18. Let’s see what 18 looks like.

Sure but RB is a dime a dozen position. Plus the Lions resigned Reynolds and aquired Montgomery. Just seems like too much resources allocated to a non premium position.
