Fitting for the guy who broke the decibel record at Bryant-Denny Stadium with his interception against LSU.
Bradâs an emotional guy. I admire his patience here. Wonder if Dorsey had to pin him down or something.
Iâm sure they were calling since Cincy/Rams pick offering our 3rd to anyone that would bite
We finally got a taker
Brad said in his presser that he started calling around the late teens and thought theyâd have to settle with someone else at a different position (but were still going to trade up)
If I painted a picture of what we could have had if we traded down from 29 and then drafted? Id be willing to wager you guys would like that draft more for the long-term.
But, we will win Super Bowl 59 as long as Roger plays ball. But we want 8 in a row dont we? We are gonna show Tom Brady a thing or two, no?
Just came back from a draft party so havenât been able to post my thoughts⌠I posted this on another board earlierâŚ
âIf they trade up, I bet itâs for Arnold if they trade up into the mid teens (listen to that kid speak, if he doesnât embody Brad/Dan culture I donât know who does) or DeJean if theyâre trading 5-6 spots up.â
I thought the trade up for Arnold would have to be in the mid teens and would cost at least a 2nd. What wound up transpiring was absolutely perfect, Arnold epitomizes exactly what Brad and Dan want in a player. I was at the draft party screaming for the Lions to trade up for Arnold as he kept dropping and praying that he didnât get to Green Bay. Once I saw him in the room nodding his head, I knew he was the Lions guy and I was screaming at the top of my lungs in happiness when it was announced. Best case realistic scenario for me personally outside of Arnold dropping to 29. Latu was the other guy I was high on in a trade up scenario but he was swiped way too early. This kid is our Witherspoon, couldnât be happier.
So perfect. I thought weâd have to give up a 2nd and a pick swap in 2025.
Keeping our pick #61 (and giving up pick #73)
Could move down those spots and get a 4th back now.
Or if we a guy slips into the 50s go up and get him for a 5th like we did Branch last year
I AM PUMPED
On one hand I love the pick, on the other hand Walter Football is pure shit and agreeing with them makes me feel dirty.
Yep, dream scenario. Honestly
I thought it would be DeJean or Kool-Aid if they jumped Green Bay at 24. Arnold is so much better. Heâll likely start Day 1 too although in Lions culture heâll really have to earn it and this kid with his insane competitiveness will earn it no doubt.
Agree w/you guys - they thought he would go MUCH higher, & thought we would have to give up more to get him. Holmes was targeting him & was making calls in the late teens.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Iâm blown away by people complaining about this pick. This team was picking 29. Late first round picks will probably be the norm from here on out. Terrion Arnold was graded by most (me included) as the best CB in this draft. You guys think top prospects will still be there by 29 without trading up? Those saying âhe would have still been thereâ need to stop with that nonsense.
A lot of us wondering if the Lions would try to trade up for him. But we all thought in the teens. A 3rd rounder probably wouldnât have been enough. None of us thought this was a realistic possibility. Yet, Brad was able to trade up, and get him. Losing a 3rd round pick is absolutely worth the value. Brad Holmes in his press conferences said a few times how shocked he was that he was there, and he also said Arnold was their top CB, and the other guys were way below him.
The Chiefs traded their 3rd for like the 5th best rated WR.
We got lucky teams went crazy for QBâs, OL, and WRâs. Allowing Arnold to fall. We got lucky.
Lastly, itâs time to trust in Brad Holmes. Most of you say it, but yet complain. Heâs earned our trust on the highest level.
I could not be happier! Words canât express how damn happy I am. Murphy is the only other guy I would have wanted more. Murphy was #1, and Arnold was number 2.
I even thought they would trade up for Cooper DeJean. Rakestraw was the other realistic approach. Consolation prizes. You all should be doing cartwheels.
I find it ironic that we just had this discussion at 1 am the night before the draft. You wanted to move up to 12 to get Arnold and I said the furthest we could move up is Dallas. Well quite the compromise we move up to Dallas and still get Arnold.
PFN Had him as the best CB in the draft
âArnold grades out as a blue-chip prospect and a top-10 talent in the 2024 NFL Draft. Heâs my personal CB1 in the 2024 NFL Draft class, and especially for man-heavy teams that value run support at CB, Arnold has immediate appeal and impact starter upside.â

Quit whining bro. Youâve made your point. You disagree with Bradâs trade-up. Most of us regulars here love the move. And most importantly, the GM and head coach who miraculously turned this hopeless franchise around loved Terrion Arnold and made him a Lion.
The other thing not being talked about enough is how he is a culture fit. Heâs a BH/DC guy, and BH preached about that during his press conference. Thatâs a major plus. These are the type of guys they want. And so do i! This team is a beat your ass team.
In my final mock I on Monday, I had Lions going up to #12 to get Arnold and Denver dropping down to get Nix. Incredible that we actually discussed the A) Move B)PLayer and C) correct team.
I was the only one on the internet mocking Arnold to Lions in a trade up.

especially for man-heavy teams that value run support at CB,
Ummm I think I know a team like that.
I had Lions going up to #12 to get Arnold
The beauty of this is how they didnât need to trade up that high. And so most thought that wasnât a realistic possibility. And for sure would have cost more. So in your opinion, we got a top 12 talent.
Youre signing-off on a man cover prospect that runs a 4.50 40?
Youâre advocating for a trade up and giving up a 3rd round pick at the prospects we were looking at? And you gain extra capital? No, that is you.
His game tape doesnât look bad, but that 4.5 40 just ainât good. How ya gonna cover CD Lamb? or any of the other stud receivers who tore us up. And Nate Wiggins who ran a sub 4.3 wAS still on the board.
Rookie mistake here guy- missing the playerâs skill for the trees of 40 times. If Terrion had run 2 one hundredths faster no one wouldâve said anything about his speed. Ridiculous. Jerry Rice ran a crappy 40. He was ice on the field. No one could run with him. ARSB ran a 4.61. He is an alpha all pro. According to your 40 yard dash math we should never have taken Ra. A little advice: Sit back and enjoy the art. Brad is painting.
