27 were pre-season only
6 additional were put on season ending IR in the preseason
5 have road the practice squad all season.
2 were cut from the practice squad without playing in a game
85!!! Lions were either on the 53 man or elevated for game day this year.
You don’t have a problem yet. Now when your spreadsheet contains pictures of their wives, children and pets, then you have gone too far. Immediately go back to the beginning, collect $200 and roll the dice.
Hyperlinks to players (used to do a lot of tsn.ca hyperlinks because they tracked the player’s transaction history so well). Now I use hyperlinks to the player’s combine page at nfl.com.
Not tracking their numbers, though. Just the year they were added and capturing as much transaction info as I care to (released, unretained, IR, release from PS and such).
Truth is, in 2008 through 2010 or 11, I’d say I was doing it out of necessity. The Lions didn’t update their roster or transaction pages worth a crap. Now, there really isn’t the need for the info, it’s just a habit and where I enjoy having certain things at my fingertips.
26 players played more than 100 snaps on defense. 43 players played at least 1 defensive snap
17 players played more than 100 snaps on offense. 29 players played at least 1 offensive snap
69 players played snaps on special teams, which is really quite incredible. Fipp should get a ton of credit for rolling out high level ST units week after week with crazy personnel turnover
Typically you have 2 DL, 2 CBs 2 SA 2 LB. That play most snaps. Then rotate in packages with the other 3 spots. Say 2 more DBs. 2 more LBs and 5 more DL.
Thats 8 starters and 9 rotation
That means they had 9 key players GONE.
And absolutely 69 ST players is huge.
Im definitely gonna have to make a comparison spread sheet now for some teams. Damnit more work lol
