Montgomery said he thought Purdy was special, which he pretty much was as he won the starting job as a freshman. Purdy was lucky enough to have 2 of the best running backs in the NCAA while he was there, both Montgomery and Breece Hall. Both those guys lead the NCAA in YAContact while at Iowa State.
