I think our real draft will look similar to this. We just go up an get the players we want. We traded up for both Stewart and Jackson. No future picks were sacrificed in the making of this draft.

I think it’ll be more like the Gibbs draft where we trade back this year .
Then trade back up for a guy like Donovan Jackson or Tory Horton or Carson Sweschinger

In that draft Stewart just happened to fall into striking range. The only edge guys I see us moving up for are Mykel and Shemar.

I’m not sure Sweschinger is better than the LB we signed from the Colts. Although he is on a 1 year deal. I would be ok with Horton with our 102 pick but I’m not moving above that for him. He just looks like an injury waiting to happen.
I know everybody wants to draft their players but when you look at who Brad has paid to be on our team next year it filters the draft down. That is looking at who is guaranteed money. That leaves openings for 2 DEs, 2 Safeties, ! IOL, 1 OT, 1 WR and 1 RB. You can make room for a CB by moving one of the CBs we signed to safety. I believe the first 3 players we select will come from the positions that are listed. Just my theory.

We take care of what we need but this was about picks for next year. For 2026 we get 1 2nd. 3 3rds, 2 4ths, 2 5ths 1 6th and 1 7th. It won’t happen but I’d be happy with these players even with out all the trade downs to acquire picks for next year.

It doesn’t sound like Booker is going to make it to us, listening to the draft whispers but who knows. I think trading down for some picks next year could very well be in play.
There are players who’s DNA Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes would craft in a lab and Carson is one of those guys… Walk-on to team captain… Huge effort and motor… Lights out on special teams… Academic honors… Instinctive… Physical… Great tackling… I absolutely LOVE this kid and the Lions do too, I guarantee it.

Well I was agreeing that they were flat out football players, then I said “so are these guys.” Obviously I wouldn’t include them again on that list. But they’re on it too overall.
