We wont agree…haha! To be fair I’m talking about when he was great. And he was. That massive contract wasn’t for nothing. How he ended up is a different story. Same with Haynsworth who was probably THE best at that time. Same with Suh who you said was better. But honestly i didn’t mean for this to became a debate about him i dont care haha but its just some players you mentioned i’d rank higher than you.
Finding a future probowl DT/DE at 28 is harder vs IOL at 28 thats a worry for me for sure. No one knows for sure, but the odds are good.
As far as Booker goes, again it’s about OL for me regardless of player, but the fit and need couldn’t be more perfect. Of course the worry is athletic ability which doesn’t worry me.
I’m going to stick to my prediction that he will be the pick, but i think he will go in the top 15 in which i wouldn’t be surprised if Brad traded up for him.
But of course I’m just a couch GM with opinions who knows nothing
EDIT: Sorry cleaned up some typos and word vomit haha
Apples to Oranges comparison.
As a 30 year old RB Williams career had run it’s course.
The Saints have all kinds of cap issues and need to find ways to cut cap.
Glasgow was asked to take one for the team and move to LG after a career year at RG.
Not a big GG fan but Dan and the staff really trust him, and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he returned to his 2023 performance at RG.
Obviously Small sample size, but I think Mahogany demonstrated that he is capable of playing LG at a high level.
No camp, only one week of 1st team reps and he was one of the best Lion OLinemen that week.
Agreed sample size is waaay to small to count on Mahogany being a stud at this point. We need another guard this draft as insurance especially with the loss of Zeitler and GG on his last leg. O LINE is our bread and butter folks.
I don’t think it is just a coincidence that OGs have higher ratings when they play between Rags and Sewell. I think 2024 Zeitler was much better than 2023 Glasgow at RG, I also think Mahogany in his one game at LG was much better than 2024 Glasgow at LG. I am not in favor of going into the season with Glasgow expected to be a starter at either OG position. a backup for all 3 IOL positions for 1 more year is fine. I respect your opinion I just don’t share it.
Again, I am not a huge Glasgow fan.
I have never said he was a better RG than Zeitler.
That’s why he was moved to LG when Zeitler was signed.
I’ve never said Glasgow was a good LG.
I think Mahogany is probably a better LG already.
My point, that you quoted, was that Glasgow was very good in 2023 at RG and could perform like that again in 2025.
You attributed some of both Glasgow and Zeitler’s performance to playing between Sewell and Ragnow.
Guess who he would be playing between in 2025.
After getting the 2 DEs I wanted to get a Safety with the next pick but the guys I wanted were gone, Ty just happened to be the best player on the board.
