If goff was good
If darnold was good
If x was good
Look i dont necessarily disagree with your comment here but lets not act like players have never done better in a different scheme with a change of scenery.
Not saying i believe in McCreary as an outlier just dont think we should bury him based on a season, let him prove why we shouldnt believe in him first.
DJ Reed: Passer Rating Allowed: 72.8 Completion Percentage Allowed: 57.1%
Rock Ya Sin: 74.7, 51.9%
Maddox: 72.9, 62.5%
Harper: 78.8, 61.1%
Numbers ainât so great for McCreary, Izien, or Clark, true, but theyâve all played well in preseason games this year. (Sample size too small for Ironsides, Rake, Dorsey (special teams guy). Abneyâs a rookie, gonna make mistakes.)
As a group theyâre definitely not any part of a toilet bowl. Flawed, especially the depth? Sure.
Im not trying to start a Civil War marty vs lions fans. Im addressing the off season was brutal. I will still stick to my thoughts that lions are a player away from competing for the SB. I also dont think lions are going to be bad at all. Ill wait till the season to start and see where it goes. Btw this message wasnât directed towards you at all.
Like i said i dont even disagree with you the only thing i did was add the full list as i believe it with current status and said we shouldnt bury someone till they prove they should be.
I dont really disagree with your opinions here though
Being healthy enough to play and try to make the playoffs isnt the same bar as being 100% healthy in the nfl. Sometimes it is best option plays if they wont make it worse
I understand but he was awfully slow when he came back and hurt the team more then helped them. Lions werenât making the playoffs after the lost November 2nd.
Mathematically they werent eliminated results dont prove your point here as they were still trying to make it. Outside of that you are right that it wasnt good enough for the lions or reed.
Honestly we didnât have a lot of money. We have a lot of big contracts.. which can also be a good thing, considering we have some big time players locked up. But we donât have much money to fill holes.. which is why the whole fa class is kind full of journeymen / reclamation projects. Nobody weâve really committed anything to.. but you also get what you pay for. IMHO when you have a roster constructed this way, you should be holding on to your later draft picks, so you can fill in your depth.
Same sentence how did the rams find the money. But I do agree with everything else. I think salary cap is a hoax. Some teams can figure a cheating system and others cant.
The team, staff, and FO will never give up until they are mathematically eliminated. Nor should they. Anything can happen once you make the tournament.
