25/26 NCAAB season; MSU UM and more

We’re not built to withstand a poor outside shooting game against pretty much anyone, but the volume of shots we take makes it more likely than not that we’ll do enough to stay in the game, except against those types of teams you mentioned. We really have to be lights out to beat those guys.

Like we missed 60 points worth of 3 point shots when we played you guys in a game in which we got out-rebounded by 20, and we lost by 21. If we hit a third of those shots we missed, it’s a close game at the end.

Biddle biddling…

OSU said “we’re good” with Diebler. That was the moment I absolutely stopped caring about that program, although I didn’t really watch Holtmann’s last couple of years either.

You have to root for 2 different schools just to keep up with us.

Arizona did not play well in the first half. But I agree I don’t think they are legitimately 20 points better than Bama. I do think they’re legitimately 8-10 points better than Bama on a neutral floor.

Looks like you got your wish re: Bedaiko. Pretty shameful moment for Nate Oats IMO. Really a microcosm of what is plaguing this country. Nobody wants to delay gratification for the long term greater good. I call it “Verua Saltism”.

Still don’t think they’re legit title contenders but we shall see.

Baylor started this with bringing on a former NBA draft pick. I don’t think we should be playing Bediako regardless, but it’s not our fault the rules (and enforcement thereof) absolutely suck.

Yep. Scott Drew is even more culpable. It is what it is. But IMO this makes my prediction inevitable. The college league’s will become minor leagues to the NBA and NFL. They likely try and become a rival element but without Congress stepping in I don’t think they will find the support within courts to create a sustainable model on that front.

It’s all well and good when you’re adding mid year but it’s gonna suck when guys are getting plucked mid year. Player’s association will be a hurdle to clear but it will happen IMO.

This is very SEC coded. You have been studying.

Nebraska looks like they’re for real, eh @CuriousHusker

Not the toughest competition thus far but they play very well as a team and, as is usually the case with a Hoiberg coached team, excellent from three point range

I think they’ll certainly win a tournament game for the first time in program history. Personally I still feel second weekend is their ceiling. Same thing with Vanderbilt.

Inevitable though there will be one final four team outside of the 8 or 9 teams that I view in tier 1A and 1B.

Their weakness is their relative lack of size and they’re very dependent on the three but man they play so well as a team, it’s fun to watch. As is always the case in the tournament, how far a team goes depends a lot on matchups.

I’ve predicted the eventual end of eligibility ever since NIL was first legalized. I still think it’s coming at some point.

Students can technically stay in school and take classes as long as they want, so why can’t college athletes stay in school and play as long as they want to maximize their potential NIL earnings?

Which introduces the following question. If you can have players who are undergrad, grad, etc and playing at 24-27, why even use the farce that they are students? Just make it a minor league college team.

I’m open minded on them. How they handle Michigan’s frontline will move the needle for me.

If I was a desperate college football program with access to money I’d be scouting NFL practice squads right about now.

My main thing with Oats is he wasn’t desperate. I get that they needed size and this helps address a weakness but they still had final four aspirations without him.

Agreed, that’ll be a big test to see how for real they are. They beat an excellent Michigan State at home and the win at Illinois was very impressive but this will be the first REAL test. The Big Ten is very strong at the top this year, reminds me of the old days in the late 80s through mid 90s when the Big 10 ruled college basketball, and the ACC.

The NFL needs to get ahead of this to protect the draft. If there is some two way contract aspect in the next CBA lock those kids into a lower tiered first contract structure.

Msu finally played a full game. Fears 17 points and 17 assists. I know Maryland is bad, but msu seems to play closer games then that

Friday is going to be a fun game!
