25/26 NCAAB season; MSU UM and more

Msu shoots like today . I doubt anyone can beat them. But same goes to AA. Btw i hate Friday games

Nebraska has 6 quad 1 wins yet which puts us in the top 5 as quad 1 wins. We demolished Wisconsin, beat Illinois and Michigan state. I don’t think we’ll beat Michigan but to say we haven’t beat anyone is just plain dumb.

It’s all relative. Now compare that to who Zona has defeated.

Woah, slow down there. I literally said the Michigan State and Illinois wins were impressive and that I love your team.

They’ve blown out everybody lately.

Not a full they haven’t

We look pretty damn good when we have that NBA player on the floor.

This must be how Kentucky feels every time they play us.

Nebraska has been fantastic. I think they are right there with MSU and Illinois and just a shade behind the Purdue/Umich tier.

All of these teams are so close. I can see any of the 5 at the top. Home court is going to be big and all it will take will be 1 or 2 upsets.

Lots of teams playing half their schedule, close to it, vs quad 3 & 4 teams. Gonzaga played 12 of them which is probably due to where they are located and the conference.

Correct. Arizona just played its first complete A game since 12/6. They’d had awesome halves (2nd vs. Bama, 1st vs. TCU) but it been 6 weeks since they really put it altogether. And conference road games are always a challenge.

Michigan is right where you want to be. Peaking early is bad. Dusty is sharp as hell. I’m sure he’s prepping things for a kick down the back stretch.

Tough for week them. Even if they lost two games (they won’t), I’d still have them as contender 1a, b or c.

I still worry about Cadeau and sloppiness with the ball at times. His Assist/TO ratio when they destroyed the Gonzaga, Auburn and SDSU was 5 to 1. In their four two possession games Cadeau’s Assist TO Ratio was 4 to 5.

Yea, plenty for UM to work on, turnovers definitely at the top. Rebounding and FT as well.

I have a bad feeling about this game. I think UM covers.

I’ve learned that Carlos Hart, who was second on the EMU basketball team in points this season, is now off the team and will surrender to feds in Pennsylvania this week after being indicted as part of the wide-ranging college hoops point-shaving probe.

# Top-5 clash with Nebraska kicks off ‘monster week’ for Michigan basketball

==

Nebraska is sitting alone in first place in the Big Ten at 9-0, its best start in conference play since it began 9-0 in the Big Eight in 1965-66. That season was also the last time Nebraska won five straight conference road games.

“It’s the biggest game of the year, because it’s the next game,” May said Monday. “(Nebraska) is a team that’s as disciplined, as connected as any team that we’ve seen all year. We’re excited to see how we stack up.”

Make no mistake, none of Nebraska’s success this season has been a fluke. The Cornhuskers won at Illinois and squeezed past Michigan State at home, handing the Fighting Illini and Spartans their only losses in league play. They waxed Oregon by 35 points and blew out Wisconsin — the lone team that’s beaten Michigan — by 30.

“They’ve shown that they can win in a variety of ways,” assistant coach Mike Boynton Jr. said Monday on WTKA’s “The Michigan Insider.” “They won in a shootout at Illinois, where the last team with the ball won. Not long after that, they beat Michigan State in a slugfest, a very low-scoring game, low-possession game. They’ve come from behind. They’ve won in blowouts. They’ve won without some of their best guys.”

Not to mention, Nebraska has done it with sound all-around play. In Big Ten contests, Nebraska is giving up the second-fewest points (64.2) and is one of the best at forcing turnovers. It leads the league in 3-point shooting (38.5%) and free throw percentage (81.6%). The Cornhuskers share the ball, take care of it better than most and play a five-out style of offense.

Among the first things that stands out to May is Nebraska’s role definition and how every player brings his “own special sauce to the equation.” There’s Pryce Sandfort’s 3-point shooting. There’s the inside-out play of big man Rienk Mast. There’s Sam Hoiberg, Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg’s son who May said makes as many invisible plays as anyone in the league.

“Nebraska is good at a lot of things, so we’re going to have to play really well,” May said. “They’re one of the best teams in the country for a reason. Some of the polls have them No. 2. Some of the metrics have them top five. They’ve earned the right to be a potential No. 1 seed and Big Ten champion. It’s on us to take care of business at home.

I still think Nebraska is a bit overrated. If they win tonight ill eat crow on the overrated word.

BIG TEN JOB RANKINGS !(https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f525.svg “Fire”) We anonymously polled coaches and asked them to rank every job in the league! !(https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f440.svg “Eyes”)

The Field of 68 will unveil a series through January in which we’ll rank the jobs in every league from top to bottom – and will do it by anonymously polling veteran coaches (head coaches and assistants) in each conference.

There are no specific parameters. Each coach was able to utilize their own specific parameters to determine their list from top to bottom.

However, while recruiting base and facilities were a major factor when I did a similar exercise in 2018, now it’s obviously financial resources (NIL) that are paramount.

Here’s the daily order thus far:

WHY IS MICHIGAN THE BEST JOB?

“Location, tradition, massive NIL budget and Jordan Brand.”

“They have the most money and the strongest overall brand in the league.”

WHY DID YOU VOTE INDIANA NO. 1?

“They are still behind in some things, but they have the tradition, the resources and now football will help as well. Sure, it may take a little money away from hoop, but the brand will be even stronger overall.”

WHY DID YOU VOTE MICHIGAN STATE NO. 1?

“Sustained excellence. Tom Izzo has plenty of NIL at his disposal, and used more than people realize this year. They have everything – resources, facilities, tradition.”

WHY DID YOU VOTE UCLA NO. 1?

“It’s tough for them travel-wise, but kids still grow up in California wanting to play at UCLA. They have the money, and don’t have to compete against anyone else in the state.

WHY IS PURDUE SO LOW?

Matt Painter has really made that job what it is. I know Gene Keady had it going, but Painter has the resources, has turned Mackey into one of the best atmospheres in the country. They have top-tier resources right now, but we’ll see if that continues.”
