3/17 Best Remaining FA

Here are some names still remaining, on St Pattys Day, of guys that could potentially fit the Lions:

DL Calais Campbell

DE AJ Epenesa

DT DJ Reader

DE Joey Bosa

OT Taylor Decker

DE Cameron Jordan

OT Jonah Williams

S Donovan Wilson

S Ifeatu Melifonwu

DE Denico Autry

Anyone stick out to you? Anyone’s name that should be added?

Its a bad list. None of the above help push the needle. Better hope Holmes has a magic draft

Cam Jordan after the draft.

Dare I suggest signing Calais Campbell for the 4th year in a row?

Yes. He can still help as part of the rotation on the defensive line. Same with Cameron Jordan who can split snaps with the rookie DE that I desperately hope Brad selects in the 1st or 2nd round.

Why not?

How about Calais, Cam Jordan and Robert Porcher. Add all 3.

We can call the the Dline “Hutch and the pill popping geezers”

Robert Porcher…come on man. That dude is 56 years old and hasn’t played in the league since 2004

In other words he’s well ■■■■■■■ rested.

Several dudes on that list can come in and provide solid production… Cam and Autry stick out especially

Jadeveon Clowney. He’s still good and would excel here.

I like that as well but I do not think he’s a Campbell type guy. I hope I’m wrong

There are also some guys on the block.

Kayvon Thibodeaux (rumored to be available for a 4th)
Josh Sweat
Jonathan Greenard (though rumor is the interim GM won’t trade within the division)
Trent Williams
Brian Thomas Jr.

So nobody throw anything at me but what about Jawaan Taylor? It seems likely that we are moving Sewell to LT so signing an experienced RT would make sense. I know he comes with penalty flag baggage but he is a solid tackle and would shore up the line. Again don’t throw anything but it’s a thought. Since it doesn’t seem like we are doing anything earthshaking at Edge in FA this could be a solid move

I mean he would be nice, but he would get called for his false starts here

Some of us on here have been pushing him pretty strongly. He’s actually one of the league’s better pass-protectors, and the penalties have come down substantially the last couple of years. That said I doubt we’ll do it at this point unless he becomes really cheap, but he’s a good option for sure.
