4th Round, Pick 126: Lions Select OT Giovanni Manu

And the Millen draft pick view from before the draft:

Ha, Voch isnā€™t a fan. Thatā€™s OK. Heā€™s had as many misses as hits over the years. He probably gets slightly better tape than the average fan but nothing like what the teams had.

So is GioMan working out with any OL guru like Duke Merriweather? Itā€™s probably too late for Duke. I suppose Hank Fraley or Dan have connections to start the process of honing him for the NFL. Or will that be top secret?

I found this link to Giovanni giving an interview on BC TV. Love this guy

Damn right the Lionsā€™ did. They have people EVERYWHERE. If some dude is playing football in Scotland, Lions will find him.

Brad has a satellite camera on Muskā€™s roadster he blasted i to space, that is currently 56 million miles away.

Good angle for watching tackle techniques and game speed.

Heā€™s going to go manu-a-manu with Colby Sorsdal and Dan Skipper for 3rd OT.

The one thing I know is if his career in the NFL doesnā€™t work out, the WWE found their next big man. Just insane build.

Some of us were on board to trade picks out of next years draft to improve this years team. You either get it or you donā€™t, the future is now. We need to be ready for next man up, and we were lacking serious OL depth. Between this pick and the absolute steal of Mahogany Iā€™m pumped. Sometimes itā€™s true, opportunity comes once in a lifetime.

Unbelievable that we got such an elite developmental talent at swing tackle and a solid Guard prospect.

Those are 2nd & 3rd round talents.

The risk/reward for a guy like Manu is through the roof definitely worth it.

The roster is at a point where JAG-level players canā€™t make it, so it doesnā€™t make sense to look at guysā€™ floors when drafting them in the middle-to-late rounds. Big hits are what will move the needle, so taking big swings makes sense.

Iā€™m not worried about the inevitable misses that come with taking big swings, because Brad can find above-replacement caliber players as UDFAs and street free agents if necessary.

Aaron Rogers has 1 SB ring, and only 1 SB appearance, which means he won the only SB he ever appeared in. That was 2011. So in how many of those years were they as close as we were last season? The one thing that rings true about the playoffs and SB is that the best QB is the team you bet on. Had GB done just a little more, and weā€™re not talking about much, whatā€™s the chances that from 2011 to 2022 they get back to the SB? Well, weā€™ll never know because they sat on their hands. This TEAM just went from WTF to now is the time. Understanding that and making the hard decisions is how we move forward. This was no dice roll.
