Manu has a HS basketball background, averaged 30 PPG his senior year and that ain’t nothing to sneeze at by itself. He will be our eligible tackle and 6th lineman at a minimum. Imagine what Penei, Taylor, and Dan did on their single receptions but more frequent with a massive TE/OT.
If this draft taught me anything, it is that the team sought to fix their red zone woes and their back end woes.
Imagine being a corner or safety and this 6 foot 8, 350+ pounder is running full speed at you on a toss or screen play. Dude runs a 5 flat at 350. Good luck.
The best thing is that we wont have to spend another first round pick on a tackle when we move on from Decker. We have managed to keep the future of our offensive line looking great for the very low price of a future 3rd round pick.
…& listen to his retirement speech, after appearing in his 2nd or 3rd Super Bowl appearance…with tears in our eyes, as we are so proud of the growth of our 4th/5h year, but newly starting tackle…having total faith in our next super bowl that year…totally confident in his ability to step in with. no fall off.
