5 questions with Lions’ Alim McNeill: Night game prep and stopping the Rams

You’re gearing up for your NFL playoff game in your career. What aspect of Sunday’s game are you most excited about?

“It’s going to be a huge game. I’m looking more forward to the crowd. Though it’s going to be a crazy atmosphere, but definitely the crowd.”

Setting aside storylines, it’s well known that the Rams boast a highly potent offense. What do you anticipate will be the most significant challenge in dealing with it?

“Biggest challenge for this defense? That’s a good question. There are going to be a lot of different challenges. That’s why it’s kind of hard to boil it down to one. But I’d say tackling. They do a good job of breaking tackles like yards after the catch and whatever. So I think this has to be a really, really good tackling game for us.

“That’s actually a point of emphasis for us this week as well. But I think tackling is going to be a huge challenge. They do break a lot of tackles, and we’re going to have to get population to the ball. We do a good job of getting guys to the ground. So we’re just going to continue to do that.”
