Going in to the Eagles game I thought Okudah would of been a better matcthup for A.J. Brown. Physically Okudah would of matched up better than A.O.
Is Julian O playing Sunday?
DC said he wanted to get him some plays this weekend hopefully. Depended on how he looked during the week but it sounded like 75/25 he dresses sunday
“McNeill was a non-factor in the loss to the Eagles. The athletic defensive tackle finished with just one tackle and did not pressure Eagles QB Jalen Hurts once.”
McNeil is a solid player, but he is not the game changer that dominates the middle.
We get the guy who dominates the middle, then Alim is no longer doubled, and becomes a force. He is who he is. Nice player, but not “that guy.”
Let’s get “that guy,” and watch McNeil and Hutch’s prouduction skyrocket.
Get my DT and watch Hutch (with a year of strength and conditioning) make his first pro bowl with my new guy…as well as Alim and the pass rush gang we have at DE/Edge explode into a really nice DL.
Our DL is not as bad as ppl think, we just need that one dude to activate the entir rest of that roster.
Hutch will get batter as the season goes on.

We need a couple of guys who shave their heads like this.
I think a few experts were picking McNeil to have a breakout season this year….and he still might. The Eagles were a bad matchup for us. I did see more pressure from our defense than I saw last year, but Hurts was just to mobile for us. I really think our Dline is going to look a lot better against Wentz! Hutch needs that first career sack to break the ice.
Yes to all of this. We will slaughter less mobile QBs doing the same thing we already did.
This team is not as bad as some make it out to be. Eagles are a contender in the NFC
Goff is better than ppl think.
OL is very solid, even with a couple of backups out there.
Run game will be fine.
WRs are better than ppl think.
Back 7 of D needs help …and I hope it comes in the form of a monster DT next offseason. ![]()
It will be what it is tomorrow, and no level of confidence in our predictions will alter the actual results….
I was slightly alarmed by the lack of toughness we showed last week…. Hutch and Bryant are hammers…. Barnes, Walker, ASB and Okudah are hammers…. Rags, Sewell, Rodrigo, and Netflix are hammers…
Right now Hock, Goff, AO, Analzone, Reynolds, Brockers, Decker, McNeill, C Harris… could all stand to play with more toughness and urgency. It’s not that they aren’t good or effective… but there is just a little “killer instinct missing.”
Neither Chark nor Swift are necessarily tough or physic guys, but they both move with purpose and can be electric…
The problem is the Barnes is typically either blowing up a RB or he’s “blowing his assignment.” Hock is a solid player, but often whiffs on his blocking assignment, and rarely if EVER catches a cross and breaks a tackle, stiff arms a guy and runs for 25-30 yards…
-
Hock- we need him to effectively chip at that line, release and make plays- I believe that in order for us to win, we really need 5 for 60 yards plus and a td from TJ
-
Hutch- after a quiet debut we really need Hutch to have a breakout- after what Travon Walker did to Washington last week, it will create some concerns if he’s invisible again. We could really use a 5 tackle, 2 TFL and 1 sack type game.
-
Sternberg- we could really use a solid outing from him. No penalties, no sacks allowed, maul the guy across from him in run game.
-
Goff- be urgent from the first series…. Run for 4 yards if it’s there. Take shots down the field early. Hot routes and quite hitters. If Swift is banged up, I’d like to see Netflix or Jackson on the first series and I’d like to pass to set up the run. Having 2-3 reserves in on the OL and trying to impose our will with a banged up RB against an 8 man bo is a recipe for punting early. Let’s try and hit a 60 yard strike to Chark or Raymond early.
-
Rodrigo- I know he had a great debut, and it seems like we are playing with house money with him already. That said- a 10 tackle game with a few big hits, knock down a pass, maybe a sack or forced fumble and suddenly it starts to feel like we might have a future pro bowl type at LB…. We could really use that type of late round win, but just to be a nice surprise, but a stud.
-
Walker- we need a big game from the captain to wipe away the stink from last weeks nonsense. We paid him pretty well to come back and be a leader and playmaker. We need 5-6 tackles and an INT this week- it would be huge…
Goff
Hock
Hutch
C Harris
W Harris
AO
It’s really promising though that okudah handled the speed of smith
- Goff
- Get Fox more involved…find a way
- Hutch
- Alim
- Chark and/or Reynolds more involved
- Other RBs (improve swift’s shelf life)
I’m not worried about hutch. If he’d played wentz last week he would have had two sacks.
Agreed.
Also - if we played the exact same way we did against this team, we win by more than a touchdown.
