6th rd pick Ahmed Hassanein is Detroit's exempt international player

I don’t think he going to be a sack machine especially out the gate, but I think he will play the run and do alot of other things a complete DE does. With his Heart and rentlessness he isnt just a pass rusher like Houston was he can set a edge. St Brown didn’t test well . But it does seem he has alot to learn. We’ll see I’m really pulling for him and think he can be more then his testing and his 6th Rd status.

@DeadStroke

Can other teams claim exempt players?

Each NFL team is given one roster exemption for a qualifying international player from the start of its offseason program through the 53-man roster cut deadline. After that, the qualifying players can be signed to a 17th practice squad roster spot reserved for international athletes across all teams.

They will keep easy

@coyote12 I think we at most can keep 6 of these guys below if we PUP Alim & Rodrigo

Wingo
Bromart
Pittman
AQM
OConnor
Nowaske
Turner
Rock Ya Sin
Dorsey
Hassanein
Zdarius?

Who’s the other 4 you would keep then ?

I’m guessing it’ll come down to ST but keep in mind we have been developing Bromart and gave up a lot of capital to get him.

Wingo was a 6th rounder who flashed a bit already

we would give up on either 2 of those guys ?

Wingo (if healthy), Nowaske, and Rock are pretty solid bets for the 53.

Dorsey is likely to be on the PUP list.
With Rodrigo also on the PUP, Pittman, Beauplan and Turner fight for last LB spot with Stuart, Nowaske and the 3 starters.
BroMart and O’Connor are destined for the Practice Squad.
Hassanein and AQM will battle for the last Edge spot.
Many are expecting Za but that is far from certain.
Za could wait out the entire camp season until invariably some edge across the league is injured.
I think Za returning is about 50/50.

Yes, they’d have to drop their international player exemption player (if they had one, but not all do) or they could keep him on roster without the exemption, but yes, they could.
