It was easier under millen quinn, even with Stafford, no expectations, now it’s different.
The team is good and it is hard to stay good, how long did it take McVey the genius with Snead to win a SB? How long did it take Philly to win their first? The ups and downs to get there is what we are now seeing, and fans who are used to losing don’t know how to react. So immediate sky is falling over reaction on a weekly basis.
People are saying Holmes should go if he doesn’t win next season…I mean really… Sure, mistakes were are made in the process even by Philly GM, gasp…
A lot easier to go back to average than to go from good to great but Lion fans haven’t had to deal with it ever. We are in the beginning of this phase and I’m enjoying the ride.
The problem is the team is regressing and Holmes isn’t evolving as a GM.
2 consecutive piss poor drafts.
2 consecutive deadlines where the needle didn’t move.
Several horrible contract extensions.
No needle moving offseason signings/trades.
Thank Holmes for getting us to this point but it’s time to move on and get someone in here that can get us to the next level. Maybe just promote John Dorsey. Holmes IMO is too stubborn and arrogant to get the Lions where they need to go. The window has already closed IMO.

2 consecutive bad drafts, horrible draft trades, no needle moving moves whatsoever over the last 2 years. Are you denying this? You are living in your own reality if you are denying this.

Yep he built the roster and got us a nice foundation. Clearly unable to get us to the next level or to even stop regressing.
Lions went from 17 point lead in NFC title game, to 1 and done in the playoffs, to fighting tooth and nail for a wild card berth. Major major regression that can’t be denied.
The whole core of our team is under contract through 2028. We just need Holmes to address our needs on both lines and borrow Campbell’s balls and make a move to put us over the top.
Not a good comparison since the move that eventually pushed them over the top was a trade right before season to add Shanahan. Holmes isn’t making those deals. Howie is.
