Ya just need to be familiar and comfortable with it. Chrome stick, Tivimate app and a good service get everything and more for around 80 dollars a year. And always have it on the go on phone or for travel to plug into any TV.
They basically have the same rates as Xfinity, DirectTV and others if you want full blown cable TV, or even Sling or HUlu. And these providers have all the channels youtube have lost (there are others). Some also have price locks. I think it’s Youtube with the problems. I would cancel service if they lost these channels.
All of us - 1999: “Why do I have to pay for all of these stupid channels I never watch?!? I watch like 10-20 channels, but have hundreds of them and my cable bill is ridiculous. Why can’t I just pay for what I watch?!?”
All of us - 2025: “Why do I have to have all of these different stupid services to watch the things I want to watch? I watch like 10-20 things and now have like 9 different services I have to pay for. Why can’t I just watch all of this in one place on one thing?!?”
When I couldn’t watch the Mavs on any bulk streaming option I went antenna and piece by piecesl streaming service.
Peacock, NBA League Pass, ESPN, Sunday Ticket, Hulu, Disney plus, Netflix, Mavs TV, Paramount plus and Apple TV plus runs me about 805 yearly. I’d have Prime whether they showed sports or not. Probably should add a few months of HBO Max to the toral
It’s convoluted as hell but I have access to every NFL game, every NBA game and every game the Longhorns play.
It was 400 bucks a year just for Sunday Ticket with Directv which another 1200 a year.
It’s not as user friendly as cable but I’m paying half the price for more sports which is all I really watch anyways.
And it’s only going to get worse. Every new season brings a couple more games that are unique to some specific service that never broadcast games in the past.
You know what’s the most consistent single source option for watching any game you want to watch on a weekly basis now……………………”pirate sites”……………..and it’s absolutely free.
At this point there isn’t even a single service someone can get just to be able to watch all the Lions games, let alone any other NFL games.
Giant pain in the ass to see your team without spending a buttload extra.
Has outages and buffering and generally about as reliable as an antenna.
Has channel by channel disputes and blackouts.
I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE STAYING UP UNTIL 2AM TO WATCH FOR NANOSECOND GLIMPSES OF TITTIES ON CINEMAX’S SCRAMBLED SIGNAL SINCE I AM NOW GETTING THE FULL 1983 CABLE EXPERIENCE WITHOUT ANY ACTUAL CABLE.
I have direct TV and I stay with them because I get the Genie box that allows me to record up to like 200 hours of programming. I can record or watch up to 4 programs at the same time. This comes in handy for college football on Saturdays. I get all the ACC, Big Ten, and SEC networks. I don’t pay for any streaming services. I watch the replay of Thursday night NFL on the NFL network after midnight. I pay between 90 and 120$ a month depending on the discount they offer me when I threaten to quit.
YoutubeTV allows you to record any number of programs at a single time, can watch up to 3 programs at a single time. Can fast forward through commercials/dead time on any of the recordings when watching. Can have 3 logins watching (live or recordings). Recordings are good for one year. Base plan is $85/mnth. I think ACC/SEC/BIG10 networks are in their base plan, but are part of the dispute. I don’t care about ACC/SEC, Disney, most of ESPN. I’d be fine with them dropping it and giving a $20 credit.
TBH, all that is, or was, doable with Youtubetv for $85 and you get all the channels as well, minus the MLB network but that comes with my MLB package.
The other thing about YTtv I love is the ability to have four different games going on four different tabs along with the multiview option. I tried the Fubo free trial which lasted for less than 5min when I was told I couldn’t have external monitors connected. And, the 7day trial was actually a 24hour trial.
I did the free 7 day Fubo trial. Which will become permanent if YouTube tv doesn’t have college football back by next weekend. I would miss the multi screen which is pretty sweet, but that’s about it.
