The NBA is pure trash anyways. Just eliminate defense. And have a 3 hour 3 point shooting contest.
Can’t imagine paying money for that product.

I just dont understand at this point why the 4 major sports dont have in house streaming.
Like i would gladly pay $80 a year for a single team package or if really like the sport $600 a year for every game package for a league on a stand alone streaming Platform.
Like if NFL plus had EVERY game. Including the Amazon games ETC. i dont understand why they even offer the contracts.
Especially when taxpayers are helping to foot the bill for most stadiums.

Especially since Football, Baseball, and Golf are his competition for ticket sales and box office draw.
Personally, I enjoy watching kids play the game more than a bunch of prima donnas.
The pro leagues have become the face and advocate of privilege.

The NFL makes a lot more money if it is able to sell individual games / nights / etc. to the highest bidder. All of the TV providers bid against themselves and the NFL gets the package that makes the owners the most money.
It’s getting ridiculous with games on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, ESPN, NFL Network, etc.

The nba’s biggest market is overseas and the ass clown in charge knows it. He doesn’t care about fans in North America at all. He is just a puppet for the owners.

Until people stop coming to the games and watching it on TV the costs will continue to go up. And since that won’t happen, make your own conclusions. At least with the NFL. I think the NBA at some point is going to hit a wall, though they have been by far the biggest and best at globalizing their content and revenue so they may not. .
The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

Two generalized pieces of macro strategy or at least wisdom that can be applied in a little bit more specific nature to what we’re talking about here and other parts of life.
As far as football there are going to be enough people in this population that will pay those prices. End of story. That will likely continue less some fourth turning style economic dislocation of Gilgameshian proportions.
I’m not unsympathetic, as at these Lions prices I’ll never go see another NFL game in person which sucks ass.
I did this year say I would go and see a Lioms game at Cosm in Detroit and I have not made plans to do that, so I better get off my ass.
To be honest that may be the future for the middle class; which is go to what is basically a hybridized theater and sports bar where you pay a much smaller admission price and slug down drinks and a meal while sitting there. And I’ll still only pay my tip on the meal and not the tax mfers

I agree but the NFL is becoming the same. Dbs can’t defend, league try to push the global narrative and really dont have consistent dominant teams. When starters get hurt the quality in play drops substantially…inconsistent ref calls too
