Adopted a cat today

I’m thinking about getting another animal.

Love fish tanks and dogs…also love travel.
Decisions, decisions.

No, her name is Eli and she’s a little pampered.

beautiful… love the different colored eyes.

My 16-yr old girl is funny in that she LOVES fresh water. A few days ago… she looked at her water bowl and I could tell she wanted a sip. I changed the water… and when I got back to her…

she was sittting exactly in the spot where the bowl sits…

Unless he sits beside the tank 24/7 watching his every move, nothing can be ruled out. lol

It took a little longer (well, a lot longer) than I had planned but we did adopt a new dog over the weekend. What kind of dog? We’re not sure yet. His mom is a standard schnauzer. He doesn’t look anything like a schnauzer though, so the rest of the blend is unclear. I look at his black muzzle and fawn coloring and see a bull mastiff. A family friend who works in a vet clinic thinks he could have some black cur in him. It really doesn’t matter to me though. My kid adores him, and while our older dog isn’t interested in him she hasn’t shown any aggression either. He’s gotten barked at when he tried to go for one of her teats. Sorry little guy, but the spayed older dog has no milk for you.

Get some of those South American toads you love so much. You can travel without ever leaving your living room (Marge Simpson style). Toads, the pet that keeps on giving.

I have quite the learning curve with this little guy. The youngest dog I had previously adopted was 11 months old, so she didn’t have a bladder the size of a marble that needed to be emptied 10 times a day. He seems to understand that we want him to go on the lawn when we take him outside. I’m sure the praise and treats will help in that area.

Great looking dog. Love that color pattern.
You probably already know this, but keep him away from deer antlers and some other junk ‘chew’ items that are great for putting money in people’s pockets, but not so great for dogs.

We can’t do bone or other hard natural chews anyways because our pitbull eats them and gets sick from the little pieces. Even a cow femur didn’t hold up for long when she tried one. The puppy will get the same digestible and non-fragmenting chews as our older dog.

Not to be a Debbie downer but I’m rehoming my dog tomorrow… jobs changing and just not going to be here for her like we should be…but she’ll be happier in a better place

Sorry bro, I know how much that sucks. We had to do that with a chihuahua mix that was brought up from Texas after hurricane Harvey. She was an adult and had been a stray for a while, and after 7 months we made almost no progress on house training her. The shelter took her back and rehomed her with someone who would have a person at home during the day to work on her training. My wife works from home now, so she can take the puppy out frequently to get him trained.

Thanks dude… and yeah it’s tough. That had to be frustrating as heck with the house training and 7 months is a long time to keep working at it, you obviously did your best!
