Humans overrate their own intelligence. They make up ludicrous stories instead of just admitting they don’t know. Can’t even cure the common cold. I’m not too worried.

Yes, they’re working out the bugs.
A couple years ago, there was a military model that was being tested. AI was tasked with an objective, something like destroy an enemy’s electric grid at a certain time. Before that certain time, AI was instructed to abort that mission. What a I did was send a missile to blow up the command center that instructed it to abort the mission.
just a little bug there…
What scared me,
When the ai knew it was a test, and it knew humans were watching. It behaved. It didnt break the rules.
But when it could simply “complete the task no matter what” it did everything it could to cheat to complete its task.
Its dangerously close to realizing humans are the threat
AI brought my food to me at the Mexican restaurant. That little dastardly knows I asked for extra cheese.

If you ask me which story is more believable. Terminator 2 where the machines turn on us. Or Planet of the Apes were the dumb** humans extinct themselves. I know which one I’m giving the better odds of coming true.

Ai will remove poverty, everybody will have robots , you will not need money because robot will do everything,we just have to enjoy life . Therev Will be no football because their will be no money concept and players will not injure their body playing free

At the moment I’m more concerned about AI and a surveillance state than I am of SkyNet. I don’t think we’re getting to AGI with this brute force of compute approach. But listen to Ellison talk about technology making society a safer place, look into Palantir, and so on and so on. If you do IMO it’s hard not to come away with the sense that the elite want to deploy some means of control already used in China. Which is of course antithetical to the values that this country was founded upon but oh well. It’s just values!
