Hey everyone I’m working on putting together a Lions playoff ticket opportunity for current Den members.
This is not affiliated with the website or Nate in anyway. This is on me.
What I’m hoping to do is have a group of friends (Den Mates) win some Lions playoff tickets.
I am still trying to work out the details but here’s my initial thoughts on it.
Rules
You have to be a current Den mate.
You can not sell the tickets.
You have to go.
I need to get an idea on how many people are interested in doing this. So if you’re interested then please let me know either via message or in this thread.
Here’s how I’m thinking it will work.
Everyone participating will have a donation fee. I’m thinking $75 -$200 bucks depending on how many are interested. The more interested the lower the donation. 100% of all donations will go back to participants.
I would like to have two tickets to win minimum. Maybe 3-4 depending on how many want to participate.
The winner will be chosen via zoom (most likely) and steps will be in place to ensure the drawing is completely fair. Or maybe a group of us can meet in person if you like that idea.
I’d love to hear your ideas so there’s no questions to everyone that it’s 100% fair and on the up and up.
I’d also like the seats to be in the lower two bowls. So I’m guessing the seat costs will be north of $800 a piece unless I can work something out for a better deal. I’m trying to use my connections to help us out here.
Questions I need answers to.
Are you interested?
If so what do you think the donation amount should be?
Should the tickets be to the Lions first playoff game or the last before the Super Bowl?
Get 20 people and you got $2000 and maybe can get 2 seats
Raffle them off
I would suggest that you just set it at $100 a person. My thought is 2 fold. You can always refund and you can always buy more tickets and “raffle off” more 2 seat sets
I would just focus on the home playoff games. Plus Super Bowl tickets are not cheap or $800 a throw.
One option is to run it as a “line” or 'razz" like sportscards. Same setup…high value card is offered for X per raffle spot for Y number of raffle spots in a list, set to equal the value of the card.
Participants buy one or multiple spots in the list ( option to purchase a certain number on the list, or just next payer gets next number).
Contest states how many times the list will be randomized using Random.org and the randomization is video’d and posted, with usually the top spot in the list after randomization is complete being the winner.
I would suggest maybe a square contest, or what ever they call that betting thing where you buy a square. Maybe use the Vikings and Rams game to find the winning numbers.
I also agree that 100 isn’t bad and maybe a meal before the game.
We are in for $100. Sponsoring a one time experience for a Lions fan would be fantastic.
She said if there is money above and beyond the cost of the tickets, the winner should receive some of it (or all of it). She brought up the short notice costs for travel and lodging, parking/uber fees, in stadium experiences, etc. So a winner might win tickets for the price of a donation, but end up having to spend an additional $500 in expenses.
I’ll throw in a hundo. But the guy who’ll go to the game with me Isn’t a member here. But we’ve been talking Lions back and forth for 20+ years. Understandable if this would disqualify me.
