Depending on the circumstances, this could be more about Alabama laws than this athlete’s crime. In Alabama, a first offense for possession for personal use is a misdemeanor. Second offense is automatically a felony regardless of quantity possessed.

Felony possession of marijuana is crazy. Trafficking I understand but for possession in 2026 is nuts.

apparently pot is still illegal in Alabama, shit here in Michigan there has to be 30 pot pens per county and 13,000 cannibis shops state wide.

They found 2.1 pounds of weed and 2.2 pounds is when you automatically get charged for trafficking. Sounds like an ounce or ten somehow got lost after the police found it, how conveeeenient!
