I don’t wish anything bad on the guy. He was a warrior here, and played very well for quite a while.
Time is hard on these guys. It’s a rough game. That being said, he could still turn it around this year… we are right in the ‘week one overreaction zone’ that always becomes comical in two months.

I loved the way Alex came here and helped establish the culture Dan wanted this team to have. He was a force on and off the field. The Lions made the right call in letting him walk however. I wish him and his family nothing but the best.

- Coming back early from a broken forearm in week 17 to help us beat the Vikings, clinching the division and #1 in the NFC for the first time ever

Ill always love the guy but the age cliff was obvious and he probably knew it too which is why he wanted that last payday.

I didn’t expect to miss him and haven’t. His actual play aside, didn’t love his public whining about the contract stuff.
That said, yes, he did really good work w/the Lions and was certainly a central part of the core that turned this thing around. I hope he doesn’t go out a “greatly diminished” player.
