I really like what this guy brings to the table. The Lions now have 5 starter quality CBs in Branch (assuming he doesn’t move to safety), Davis, Arnold, Robertson, and Rakestraw.
With Moseley, they call me “Norice” Morris, Vildormort, and Gilmore, the Lions have quite a bit of depth at the position.
Music history footnote:
“Pompatus” is a made-up word! In fact, Steve Miller has said it doesn’t mean anything. Turns out, the pseudo word was coined not by Miller but by Vernon Green back in the '50s for a doo-wop song he wrote when he was a teenager.
The only NFL teams (since 1940) to have three consecutive shutouts were the 1970 Cardinals and the Steelers, who did it during Games 7-8-9 of the 1976 season and closed out that season with a pair (Games 13-14) and started 1977 with one (Game 1).
