An historical draft... the last time the Lions doubled down on CBs in Rds 1-2 was 1997

when they took Bryant Westbrook at No. 5 overall and Kevin “Peanut” Abrams at 54 overall (technically, there was Juan Roque in-between at No. 35, but from a back to back round standpoint, the doubling up remains true).

Lions have had some success doubling up at a position in Rds 1 and 2.

In 1992, the draft yielded DE Robert Porcher and DE Tracy Scroggins.

In 1991, the Lions first two picks (they didn’t have a second round pick due to the trade for Kelvin Pritchett at No. 20 overall), and took WR Herman Moore and WR Reggie Barrett back to back.

And, of course, in 2022, the Lions doubled up on DE with Aidan Hutchinson and Josh Paschal (with Jameson Williams in-between).
