Absolutely not, Toney is a joke. I actually want the Chiefs to have to keep him, as he hurts their team. Toney is a negative force multiplier as opposed to a positive one. He has terrible hands, a worse attitude and even his teammates don’t like him. There is a reason the Giants, desperate for a WR, gave up on him nearly immediately.
The Chiefs took Toney thinking he just needed a change of scenery, and falling into the stupidity that Mahomes can make anyone good. They never thought that Toney could actually make Mahomes worse. Toney’s asshole attitude and ass WR play actually infected the Chiefs offense and made them worse. The Chiefs were right to bench him for stretch and playoff run and got better because of it. The Chiefs TRIED to do right by Toney, and made up a fake injury so people stopped asking why Toney wasn’t playing. Instead of just going with it, Toney came out and pronounced himself healthy, adding more fuel to the stories.
Seeing Toney get 2 penalties on literally the first play he was on the field was pretty telling. Moreso, listening to the Chiefs fans booing the guy, in a PREASEASON game, tells you how fed up people are with him. The Chiefs will cut him. The guy is a cancer, and whatever team is stupid enough to sign him will go down with him.
A more fun game should be, what team do we want Toney to go to? What team would be the worst case scenario to bring him in?
For me, I want him to stay on the Chiefs, or go to 9ers as an Aiyuk replacement if he is traded. That helps the Lions. The situation I think would be the worst, outside of going to the Lions which I do not believe would happen, is him going to Carolina. Bryce Young already has a tough enough uphill climb, adding Toney to that roster would finish any chance of Young succeeding. David Tepper is just stupid enough to do it too.
