Annual Den Mock Draft Contest

Here’s what I think BQ will do. Not the draft I want.

1-3: DT Derrick Brown
2-35: RB JK Dobbins
3-67: OG Damien Lewis
3-85: DE Bradlee Anae
4-109: CB Noah Igbinoghene
5-149: WR KJ Hill
5-166: P Braden Mann
6-182: QB Shae Patterson
7-235: LB Omari Cobb

What I think will happen:
3. Okudah
35. Jacob Eason QB
67. Antoine Winfield S
85. Antonio Gandy-Golden WR
109. Alton Robinson EDGE
149. Jordan Fuller S
166. Khalil Davis DT
182. Javon Leake RB
235. Cohl Cabral OLine
A real… Who? Kind of draft. Mixed with one or two, OK, I can get behind that pick.
3 trades in the draft.
1 Trade down. #3 to Phins for #5, their first 2nd rounder, and a 5th rounder.
2 Trade up into late 1st.
3 Trade up into the 4th

For purposes of this contest:

  1. Isaiah Simmons LB
    2nd. Joshua Uche, EDGE
    3rd a. Ross Blacklock, DT
    3rd b. Bryan Edwards, WR
    4th. John Simpson, OG
    5th a. Zack Moss, RB
    5th b… Lavert Hill, CB
    6th. Colton McKivitz, OT
    7th. Michael Turk, P

#3 Edge Chase Young
#35 OL Cesar Ruiz
#67 S Jeremy Chinn
#85 DL Raekwon Davis
#109 WR Devin Duvernay
#149 RB Anthony McFarland Jr.
#166 QB Anthony Gordon
#182 P Braden Mann
#235 LB Khaleke Hudson

Yes excellent idea. I cleaned up most of the garbage and will again before the draft.

Let’s all try and keep the thread clean please.

Thanks to Farmer for stepping up.

  1. Jeff Okudah CB
    35. Curtis Weaver EDGE
    67. Raekwon Davis DT
    85. Davion Taylor LB
    109. Zack Moss RB
    149. Shane Lemieux OG
    166. Braden Mann P
    182. Josh Pearson WR
    235. Giovanni Ricci TE

I think we trade down with Miami and take Okudah there.
I also expect BQ to move back up into the 4th round in a trade with New England for pick 125 to take Lemieux or another OG.

This won’t count but I wanted to put it in here anyway. I think Brown is the only other choice the Lions would make with their first pick. If it is any other player I will be surprised.
If we go Brown instead of Okudah I think the top 3 picks go this way:

  1. Derrick Brown DT
    35. Cameron Dantzler CB
    67. Jon Greenard EDGE

Tie Breaker: I predict two trades.

Bonus Question:

  1. Trade down Lions 3OA to Mia for 5, 56, 70.
  2. Trade up Lions 149, and 182 to NE for 139

First round: No. 3 DT. Derrick Brown

Second round: 35 CB Jaylon Johnson

Third round: 67 OG Jonah Jackson

Third round: 85 S Kyle Dugger

Fourth round: RB Darrynton Evans

Fifth round: 149 P Braden Mann

Fifth round: 166 DE James Smith-Williams

Sixth round: 182 OT Colton McKivitz

Seventh round: 235 LB Daniel Bituli

First round (3): Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State

Second round (35): Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming

Third round (67): Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama

Third round (85): Ben Bartch, OT/OG, St. John’s (Minnesota)

Fourth round (109): Khalid Kareem, Edge, Notre Dame

Fifth round (149): Braden Mann, P, Texas A&M

Fifth round (166): D.J. Wonnum, Edge, South Carolina

Sixth round (182): Isaiah Coulter, WR, Rhode Island

Seventh round (235): Scottie Phillips, RB, Mississippi

Of course I don’t actually think that’s how it’s gonna go since I think there’s certain to be trades. My guesses: we trade down from 3 with Miami for 5, 26 & 70. From there we flip 26 & 35 to trade back up into the 9-15 range for one of the top 4 tackles, top 3 WRs, Henderson (if we didn’t draft Okudah), or Brown or Kinlaw (if we didn’t draft Brown).

First Round
003) Derrick Brown DL (the Lions are trading down, so this will be from another number) and it destroys the rest of the mock draft.
Second Round
035) Jaylon Johnson CB
*** that pick would probably evolve into Josh Uche or Curtis Weaver.
Third Round
067) John Simpson OL
085) Cam Akers RB
Fourth Round
109) Joe Reed WR
Fifth Round
149) AJ Dillon RB
166) Alex Highsmith DE
Sixth Round
182) Braden Mann P
Seventh Round
235) Casey Toohill LB

I feel the Lions will trade at least twice,
Down to five or six, picking up a second and a third from Miami or the Chargers. Then trading up from their pick in the second with San Francisco.

Trade guess - 3OA to Carolina for 9& 20, who become Kinlaw DL and Jaylon Johnson CB. Then third round we go OT, fifth round LB

First round: No. 3 overall Jeffrey Okudah CB

Second round: 35 overall A.J.Epenesa DE

Third round: 85 overall Bryan Edwards WR

Fourth round: 109 overall Saahdiq Charles OT He likely ends up at OG

Fifth round: 149 overall Casey Toohill OLB

Fifth round: 166 overall Danny Pinter OG

Sixth round: 182 overall L’Jarius Sneed CB

Seventh round: 235 overall Dezmon Patmon WR

1 Det trades - First Round #3 for #6, plus couple more picks not sure for this year drafting Okudah from Chargers, & #37, drafting RB Taylor. If this happens I take

I think they also use 5thrd 166 to move up in rd 3 a few spots

So 3 trades I also think they keep rd 4 pick its high pick for day 3 they could move down after they see how draft goes

If trade happens an we get Taylor RB I take a OT at rd 4 You asked for trades but keep mock no trade this I did.

Rain makes corn; corn makes whisky and whisky my baby get a little frisky. raaain its a good thang.

First round: No. 3 overall Jeff Okudah

Second round: 35 overall AJ Epenesa

Third round: 67 overall Hakeem Adeniji

Third round: 85 overall (from Eagles) Raekwon Davis

Fourth round: 109 overall K’von Wallace

Fifth round: 149 overall Jon Runyan Jr.

Fifth round: 166 overall (from Eagles) Moe, a punter

Sixth round: 182 overall Curly

Seventh round: 235 overall (from Eagles through Patriots) Larry

Quinn trades 3 times

Trade prediction: Miami and Detroit. Detroit trades 3 and 35 to Miami for 5, 26, and 39 Detroit selects best WR on board, Detroit selects Okudah, Justin Jefferson, and AJ Epenesa.

Also just calling it…no points involved…we trade for Leonard Fournette or Yannick with some picks we collect in a trade down. Or both!

Mods lets lock this up until after the draft!

2 hours to draft! I still have time to change my picks!

Thought Ted’s “Annual Den Mock Draft Contest” was the official thread. Anywho, here’s mine from that thread.

Rd. 1 = (DT) D Brown
Rd. 2 =(OLB) P Queen
Rd. 3 = (S) K Duggar
Rd. 3 =(RB) C Akers
Rd. 4 = (OT) B Bartch
Rd. 5 =(WR) Q Cephus
Rd. 5 = (OT) C Heck
Rd. 6 =(QB) A Gordon
Rd. 7 =( P ) B Mann

This is Bittersyd’s that he put in the wrong thread.

Per the rules the deadline was 6pm. So the thread will be locked until after the draft. Please ask a mod to unlock post draft.

Good luck all and Go Lions!
