Had a couple really good years with the Eagles… Before getting his bag with the 49ers. Has been very durable in his career up until last year. Could be interesting as a temporary Alim replacement.

Torn tricep last year. First serious injury of his career.

I thought he missed games in 2023 as well. Hamstring or something like that IIRC.

It all depends on cost, but these are the types of players Holmes will be hunting for. He is going to reserve the big deals for the home grown talent and be looking for a bargain. Whether that’s older players looking to play for a contender, players coming off a down season, or players coming off an injury, these are the types of players he will be looking for.

Played 16 games, plus 3 playoff games in 2023. Been extremely healthy until his tricep blew apart last year.

I completely agree. Vets who have been released and don’t count in the comp pick game will likely be targets.

It could be a fun way of doing it and you could have some solid vets on 1/2 year deals and getting comp picks(BEANS) which is adding cheap young depth while also keeping the SB window extension going and keeping our young guys

There is going to be ton of cuts. I can see holmes gamble on players. And let few of our guts go for some comp picks

Hargrave is not good against the run. He gets blown out of gaps if he’s not beating his guy off the snap. I dont see him as a good fit here even as a bargain bin signing.

I hope this is our approach but Brad has not yet used this approach. Maybe now that players are wanting to play here this can change.

Plus there is some interesting names floating around that could still be traded or released

I think fit/compatibility is more important to him than racking up comp picks. I think he’d love it if the guys who fit also came without a comp pick penalty, but I don’t think he’ll bend on what he wants because of it.
