Lucas was never gonna test like that. He’s not that explosive, more of a smooth, build up kind of juice. A little like Faulk actually.

Good point.. I didn’t really think how crazy Oweh tested… was just zeroed in on the other similarities.
I should have left the draft position off my post, because really the point I wanted to make is that it is very possible that a 21yo player with ideal size that started playing the game in high school should be able to get significantly better.
Right, and the more I think about it the more I like Faulk as a physical comp.

Lucas has the physical makeup of everything you want in an NFL DE. He has all the upside in the world. After an early season game against Ga Southern he really looked like he figured it out and was hitting his stride. Unfortunately once the big ten schedule started those OTs slapped him around and took his lunch money every week and he had no answers. This is why he went undrafted. The potential is still there if he wants to get up off the floor and go get his money back. It’s up to him.
I’m wondering if he has a conditioning issue. There were times early in games he looked like Lawrence Taylor. Then he’d fade out a bit. There are a lot of natural tools to work with here. I hope they’ll get the best out of him. He’s definitely the UDFA I’m most excited we signed in memory.
