Anthony Lucas DE USC

Unfortunately for him we only play one DE.

Is he the one we gave the most cash?

If you read my draft crush picks post. You know I am geeked about this!! I cannot believe he went undrafted.

The Athletic rated him #24 Edge.

CBSSports had him at #15, just one spot as overall prospect behind Zion Young, at #100!

He’s a good player. Not sure what flags there are

I really really enjoyed what the Lions did at DE this weekend.

He epitomizes…so far…Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. He’s a great UDFA because of that. He’s still young, 21 I think, and could have a growth spurt in technique and awareness.

Just hutch. And the other side we are good. Permanently.

Hopefully Brad finally sheds that comment.

Didn’t one of his legs have to be reattached?

Brad never said “we’re good.” Dan did, and he was specifically referencing their decision not to re-sign Za’Darius Smith.

Only Payton Turner, Hassanein, and Lacy standing in his way for DE4 being active on game days

This may have been shared but was unaware he was considered a first round talent at some point …

Did i read somewhere that he only had 3 sacks in college? We have 3 guys ahead of him for the same dual use DL spot so he might be a guy we stash and develop on PS.

He had zero prior to this year.

He was part of that greatest ever DL recruiting class at A&M. Most all transferred out. He was lost in the shuffle at A&M. Transferred to USC but lost much of 2024 bc of injury. Started out 2025 on fire and then really tapered off.

Physically, he’s a freak. The tools are there. He just never really put it together, save a few games. And even then the “production” never really amounted to sacks.

But the fact that WE brought him in is a good indicator that he should have a good attitude, at least. You’d think if a guy with his gifts also had grit and a hot motor he would have already succeeded, but maybe he just doesn’t have very good instincts for the game.

.

He just traded up in the 2nd round to address DE, after signing a solid veteran in UFA.

It’s a joke.

I think this is a key point.

He is 21 years old.

He also didn’t start playing football until he was a freshman in high school.

His size, athleticism, late start to football, and lack of eye-popping stats reminds me of Odafe Oweh… except Oweh was a 1st round pick!

Ok… but it might help to use a “/s” in a post like that, because it really doesn’t read like a joke as it is written.
