been a lot of hours since I commented in the Retirement thread…
Edit:
Deleted for lack of originality.
The real Frank the Tank perhaps…

WTF, dude, I’m way to old to play center in the NFL, maybe longsnapper but still. Leave me out of this thread…

Too soon:laughing:![]()

Number 69…
Tate converted?
Cooper Beebe had a good rookie season at center for the Cowboys.
I personally hope we keep Tate at RG and he’s a dominant pro bowler over there like Jeff Hartings
So, who is RG, Glasgow or Frazier?
The good news: every major sport but baseball has a center so bigger pool to draw from.
GG will take over. He wont be as good as Frank but he’ll be solid. The question is who will take over on the left and right OG’s? it’ll be a battle. One things for sure, this OLine took a major hit. I HOPE the pornstar from the 80’s can start right away and be great.

oh yeah -it’s funny…

Well I’m sure the lions had no clue this was a possibility and don’t have a plan………
In all seriousness, I wonder if Frank was working with the Lions on this and that’s why he waited until after June 1st? Not sure how it affects the cap or if it gives more money to Frank? Just complete speculation by me. Maybe I should become a beat writer for the Lions?
If Ratledge takes over, I think it’s kinda likely that Goff will be doing his own protection calls until Tate gets experience. Just one more thing on his plate that he wouldn’t have with Frank.
The more I think about it, the more I would lean toward GG than a rook, even though I want the long term answer at center and if that’s Ratledge I’d like to get him in the fire straight away.
And I wonder if this year’s OL will be an experiment until they can draft a natural center next year.
Your guns are way too large to be a noodle armed nerd beat writer! ![]()
I could see Ratledge being the center of.the future… But play guard as a rookie. Kinda like that Frank Ragnow guy did.
People forget Frank played guard as a rookie.
Ragnow didn’t play center in his rookie year. Obviously that was a different regime, but it makes sense to me that Glasgow plays there this year while Ratledge or whoever gets up to speed on the mental side of the position.
Yup I think GG is the guy……but having 4 preseason games to get a look at Ratledge at center might be interesting. Keeping Hank Fraley may be bigger than losing Ben Johnson. The Lions OL is te engine of this offense. Also nice that while Goff may not be the most athletic guy playing, he may be one of the smartest and can help with the protection calls.
