SO funny when I was describing how I met my girlfriend to you guys. LOL. @3rdRGR … “how did you guys meet?”
Me…" She was at the pool, and I got out, and the sun was glistening off of my head as the water dripped down my tan, muscular body."
My girl…“Yup!”
I was laughing so hard
Would love to have the level of health and fitness I had when I met her again.
I mean the site is clickbait. There is no reference at all to Holmes at all except in the link heading. Willis has been all over the place at the senior bowl. Top 5 throws belong to him but the top 5 worst throws also belong to him. I am not against taking Willis, just not going to believe anything until the player’s name is called. For example, the rumor at the Senior bowl is that the steelers love Willis more then Pickett by a mile and if he is there they will take him in the first…who knows…we shall see in April.
Are you prepared to take him at #2? If yes then fair enough. If he’s the guy - then he’s the guy. If no, then you’re not really on the Willis train either.
And don’t give me any of this - trade down / trade up nonsense. If you were convinced about Willis - you’d run to the podium at #2. But you’re not.
And the Lions only get one shot at this with this rebuild so they need to be ‘#2 sure’ at least. It takes at least 2-3 years to get someone like Willis ready - assuming he’s even remotely capable - which most people think he isn’t.
I don’t know if I’m catching exactly what you’re saying.
I started the Cooper Kupp hype train back in 2017, didn’t mean I wanted to take him #1 overall.
I also started the Kam Chancellor hype train back in 2010, again, didn’t mean I wanted him with our 1st round pick.
Definitely disagree here as well. You are basically saying that a team can’t believe in a QB unless they take them as high as they can? Chiefs must not have liked Mahomes if they were only willing to trade up to #10 to get him and not #1 to make sure they didn’t miss out. Or the Ravens must not have really liked Lamar Jackson because they took HAYDEN FREAKING HURST with their own 1st round pick 7 picks before they got Jackson. That logic makes zero sense.
You can like Willis and his upside, but still realize there are better, safer, picks that can be made.
I would hate Willis at #2 because we need a true game changer there and can’t afford to miss. With the Rams pick its a gamble worth taking because if he doesn’t work out it doesn’t set you back like taking him at #2 would.
“Best QB at the Senior Bowl practices” doesn’t translate to a quality NFL starter. This year’s QB class is weak. Just because he’s looking good in comparison doesn’t mean a ton.
Naw. I can’t let you frame it like that. I can both want Willis, and want him at the right place in the first round. The guy has tools and character. He is pretty raw. You try to mitigate the risk of taking him by being able to move some of the beans around and get additional players.
It does mean that he is exceeding Pickett a consensus first round pick and Howell, and there were a fair amount of folks out there thinking this situation would expose him. Not so much. Instead he just may have leapt Pickett and Corral and that is newsy.
