I know it doesn’t have much of anything to do with the Lions. But I do my own little draft thing every year and I’m struggling with this one…I haven’t moved passed pick #2 because I’m already stumped on these two players
Tricky call for the Jets specifically though, will their current leadership take a chance on a guy they’ll need to sort out how to use?
I have some buddies who are Jets fans and they say there’s like an even split in the fanbase. Like if you put 6-7 guys in a poll they would all get 10-12% of the vote. So if you’re trying to do your best to guess which way they might go, good luck lol
Nah I do each pick as if I’m making the decisions and try to do my best not to look ahead until I’m done with the current pick/team. But I do 1/100th of the research that you guys do. It’s quite literally for me just a fun exercise I enjoy doing every year. It helps me become familiar with most of the entire NFL. My thoughts on players are almost exclusively made up by others opinions.
Agreed. I often have a half a dozen trades in the 1st round when I do this. But just from my initial thoughts, I don’t see any obvious trade up/down spots early in the draft as the prospects just don’t feel worth the moves.
Well I have spent a lot of time on their boards and listening to their fans trying to get a feel for it, and they make good arguments for all of them. I lean Reese too, but I would get them taking either of Tate or Bain as well. The arguments for Tate are pretty compelling, given that WR is not the 2nd-most-expensive non-QB position in the league. Even if it’s early, if he hits it will be worth it.
I like to do full mocks myself, making every pick is more realistic. Like I’ve been mocking Freeling top ten for a couple of months now because I knew it’s where he would end up. I also post a few full mocks over at the reddit draft site
Alright let me ask about the cardinals then lol. I was pretty dead set on the one I didn’t take at 2. But it sounds like Bailey might not even be on your radars.
And because I don’t love any of these top prospects, I guess maybe I should scrap the positional value thing. It never crossed my mind because it’s so ingrained in the draft thought process.
I have been pretty consistently sending them Mauigoa, though I know I’m a little higher on him than most. But he’s a really good fit there, and at a spot they need. Of course I think he has Zack Martin/Quenton Nelson upside as a guard, so even if he doesn’t hit as a RT - and I think there’s a good chance he does - the floor of the pick is just so high due to the versatility.
Yep. Rumors are that Arizona loves FM and that LaFleur wants to establish the run. That would be my guess as well.
Jeremiah Love is the really wildcard. I think there is probably a dozen pick range or so for him but gun to my head I think he goes higher than many are projecting.
Yeah pegging his spot is tricky, as it is with any RB.
That said, the Raiders were one of the main landing spots for Jeanty last year, probably the favorite by draft day, and the Falcons were probably the favorite for Bijan, especially after we signed Monty. So maybe we do sort of get it right.
My guess right now? KC. They might have to jump the Saints to do it though.
