B1G tournament

Plus we have to play Thursday after playing 3 days in a row.

At least they won’t have that Lions rust to shake off lol

Ive said it for years . Either change the format, so the big champion game is on Saturday or save the legs. Because it means nothing

Yes they should play it sooner.

Its already set in stone

Wow Pitino looks like he could star in a vampire movie

UM lost 4 of their last six iirc, and looked like shit most of this game.

Damn, I have an architectural luncheon I’m presenting at Thursday so, missing game one. And it’s in Dallas so, I will miss the whole game due to the time difference.

So the tournament means not as much as what we think.

Even the Big Ten admits the conference tournament doesn’t mean anything:

Purdue a 4 seed in the Midwest. That should be Michigan’s spot.

It never has. Msu i think 2019 won the regular and the tourney. Beat uofm 3 times. Had a better record. Yet still got a 2 seed , and i belive uofm was a 3 texas tech beat both Michigan schools. But the issue was why msu was in the duke region, and why is both msu and uofm in the same region as well. Fix it please

So somehow Purdue gets bounced in the 1st round by Michigan and has 3 less wins and 2 more losses and somehow draws a 4 seed and Michigan wins the Big10 tournament, has 3 more wins, 2 less losses and gets a 5 seed.

The big ten tournament does nothing for anyone who is already going to be in.

All the teams that Michigan beat in the B1G tournament got higher seeds than them. Make it make sense! :person_shrugging:

Those teams played better than UM over the last month and two of the games went to the end.

Understood…but as a Notre Dame fan I am trying to be fair. Michigan beat Purdue twice. They beat Wisconsin twice including AT WISCONSIN. I can see Maryland, but both Purdue and Wiscky finished below Michigan in the regular season standings and Michigan beat them in the B1G tourney and won the B1G tourney. I mean Auburn got the #1 overall seed and Duke was playing better than them down the stretch.

A simple solution would have been to swap a 12 loss Arizona from a 4 seed to a 5 and Michigan taking their 4 seed. But that’s too easy and I guess they don’t like easy.

So why does the Big10 even have their tournament, if it doesn’t determine the Big10 champion nor does it mean anything for seeding in the NCAA tournament?
Heck, it might even be better that your team loses early in the Big10 tournament so they can get some rest for the NCAA tourny.

Two reasons
One big makes a ton of money of it
Two msu, Purdue. Wisconsin. Michigan Maryland ucla. Oregon, and Illinois were all at large bids. So no matter what they did either they dropped a little or got a little bump. But thats just want region they be in. But for teams that weren’t locked in either winning a few more games. Like Indiana, they might have got in beating Oregon or a team like osu needed to probably win it all. Its basically giving some teams a extra shot.
