I am definitely not saying hes good. Or a good solution at backup QB. Because hes not ideal at all.
I was saying, most teams have a washed up QB. Or an unproven young gun. (Hooker)

Do the system with every team.
4 game average stretch of teams.
Say Goff would go 3-1.
A great backup would go 2-2. 90% of backups would MAYBE win 1 game.

How many back up qbs do you honestly think could go 2-2? Not many at all.

I think we would be better off signing OG Brandon Scherff to start ahead of Glasgow so we can keep Goff upright. But we have to wait until after the draft so we still get our comp pick.

was actually just pointing out that the guy claiming most of the league has a ā€œbetterā€ backupā€¦ hasnā€™t even seen Hooker play any meaningful snaps.

I like Hooker and Iā€™m fine if thatā€™s all we have behind Goff but I know the Lions would like to have a veteran with experience in the mix.

Expect them to bring in some competition and to stash that person on the practice team.

btw Iā€™d rate Kyle Allen higher than some guys on this list above like Trask or Mills. Trask has eleven career attempts. lol.
Hooker have to compete with him. Lets wait what pre season shows.

Yep. Iā€™m a Willis truther. He had no shot in TEN. Got a feeling Willis will end up making a name for himself. Iā€™d much rather hand the reins over to Willis atv2.5M or whatever then pay Russ Wilson 22M

I guess I donā€™t understand WTF a ā€œBackup QB isā€ when, they are called into play but donā€™t have the ability to stay on the field with their play -a week or three ( if needed) and be able to do a decent job of filling in for a starting QB -while he, mends./ or he can return .,thatā€™s what a back up is for IMO.

if you asked me if any of our backups can be the guy for 1 to 3 weeks IF Goff was injured? Iā€™d tell you, I highly doubt it.

Thats my point tho. How many NFL teams can you definitely say. Yes. Absolutely can.

ATL - Cousins
CAR - Dalton
ARZ - Brissett
LAR - Jimmy G
BAL - Rush
BUF - Trubisky
HOU - Mills
JAX - Mullins
KC - Minshew
LAC - Hienike

And again. Out of all of those team/ABs. Over a 4 game span. Whats their record. 2-2 on an average/ easy stretch. 1-3 most likely.

And only half of those teams would likely go 3-1 with their starter.

So the difference between a top 5 backup QB and a Bottom 5 backup qb is 1 win over a 4 game stretch? Sorry not worried.

If any teams QB is out for more than 4 week they are in trouble. Unless they have a top 3 defense in the NFL.

I donā€™t see ANY of our back ups as reliable. as i have doubts that they could last a full week in full time service and do well.
